ive found with girls, ive only had 2 die from old age.. current:girls- minnie-18 months- hairless-persistant absess' one goes and a few months later she will get another, latest one is under her eye :( also has a head tilt blue-18 months- a bit of a fatty, a little bit sniffly but nothing major dais...

thanks guys :) went in to a different vets today as she seemed more rattly and grumpy since having these AB's. they said they may be reacting badly to her and have put her on 10 days worth of MARBOCYL??i then have to take her back to chech whats going on and possibly pick up more of this.. she seems...

right just had a message from my mum saying one of my young female rats (well 6 month old) has her head turned to one side and is going round in circles every now and again, its not always just every now and again :( what could it be? she will be going to the vets first thing in the morning... iv ju...

right.. new cage time..

i need a new cage for my girlies. i have 5 females, 2 are 'normal' female size, 2 are dinky (stayed the same size since they where a couple of months and now easilly 11 months old!) and luna is shrinking in her old age.. so bar spacing needs to be pretty small.. dont really want to spend more than £...

nope daisy ignored them all night and has done all day, i even moved a couple of the babies to where she had chosen to lay and she still just pushed them away and moved.

Well daisy and bluebell have now both had their litters, blue is down to 12 babies and daisy had 15. I did a daily check on the babies today and only 2 of daisys had obvious milk bands, i put them back in the nest and left them to it but daisy stayed away completely, so i opened up both mummies cage...

panic over!! i moved all babies to where bluebell was laying and left it, went back an hour later and there are sucking noises and babies are scrambling around pushing eachother out of the way and bluebell wasnt even interested in me being in the room!!

rat mummy and babies..

well bluebell had her babies today, one was dead.. that one was removed and she was left to it. the first baby was seen at 3:15 this afternoon.. i got home at 6:30 and she had finished having babies, she was sat in the opposite corner of the cage. i know sometimes the mothers will do this for a coup...

No it was on neutral ground. Ive done plenty of intros before, never had a successful one with adult males though :( x
