Thanks Jemma, I like the idea of mixing with rice and will limit it. :)

Re: They won't take their meds - end of my tether!

Hi Elmo,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble feeding meds, I made a post yesterday about how I give Squidge his baytril and it has worked every day, twice a day for over a week.....give it a go.

Try this to give your rattie baytril......

My little Squidge has been on baytril since Sat 6th and has taken his dose twice a day (0.3ml each time)in Alpro soya milk. Strawberry in the morning and chocolate in the evening. Just a small bowl with about 7-10ml is perfect and he's drunk it all everytime. Just thought I would share this as I kno...

Re: White Spots ??

Hi, I bought beaphar anti-parasite spot on from my local large pet shop, think it was pets at home and it worked a dream, it has ivermectin in and gives just the right dose....highly recommended and a fraction of the price you would pay at the vet

Re: Respiratory Problem - Baytril and other advice please

Thank you for all your comments, I am glad you don't recommend keeping him separate, I had already split the cage following vet advice but will put him back with his friends now. The label on the bottle from vet says 5ml baytril 2.5% oral 100ml give 0.2ml in 100ml water fresh every day. Should I use...

Respiratory Problem - Baytril and other advice please

Hi, I have just come back from the vets with my 8 month old male dumbo, Squidge. I took him as he was a bit snuffly, breathing quickly and generally out of sorts i.e not interested in food. The vet listened to his chest and she said it was a bit crackly and that he may have a respiratory problem. Sh...

Mite Treatment

I have treated one of my boys with Beaphar Spot on after getting some great advice on here. It worked an absolute treat, now my question is should I treat every 4 weeks as a preventative treatment or just keep a close eye on any return symptoms and only treat when infected?

Thanks :-?

Anti Mite stuff on a hairless?

Hi, I will be using this today on my 3 boys 'Beaphar Anti-Parasite Spot On' as Squidge appears to have mites, will it be ok to use on a hairless rat?

Thank you to everyone for their help on this subject yesterday.

Ivermectin for mites

Hi, does anyone know where I can get ivermectin for mites from, other than a vet please? My vet will charge me over £25 just to look at my boy!

Thanks
