Re: An overview of the new forum
I registered a few hours ago, but still haven't received my email.
ETA: It was in my junk! I was waiting for an email to come through to my phone or desktop mail. Checked online and there it was.

Re: Which is your favourite hammock maker?
I voted Fuzzbutts bceause that's the only place I've gotten hammocky things from and the like from that I can recall. My gf makes them for me now, though (mostly cubey like beds, as the boys prefer them), and they're brilliant, so I don't buy them from anywhere, anymore.

Re: PDSA's new policy.
I don't use the PDSA, and even when I was on low income I didn't qualify because I live with my parents, but I think that the new policy is ridiculous. How does your breed of dog reflect your income at all? I get that, as mentioned, it would be stupid for someone on a low income to spent a gross amo...

Re: Rat Tamers- Essex/London
I don't live in either Dagenham or Romford, so wouldn't actually know how everybody chooses to write their address (apparently incorrectly  ;) ), but if a Dagenham/Romford postie is delivering post and doesn't know where they are I worry about the posties, I really do... ;) Haha. Am I right in ...

Re: Rat Tamers- Essex/London
I liked the article with the big bunny, but I don't remember the picture. Dagenham is RM8, RM9 and RM10, definitely in Essex. But, it's part of "Greater London" so also comes under that. The address would still have Essex in it, I'm in the same boat (well county ) The Essex postcodes remain ju...

Re: Rat Tamers- Essex/London
I live in East London, too (Dagenham is in East London, has been for about 60 years, yes I'm pedantic and annoying  (don'thateme), but I'm not really sure about aggressive rats. I had one boy who took a disliking to my friend and would attack whenever she put her hands in the cage, but he just...

Re: Castration Swelling (photo)
I had a cryptorchid boy, and after he was neutered the swelling (which was really solid) afterwards looked horrific (much bigger looking than his nads had been), even though he didn't seem in any particular discomfort. The vet said that was normal and he had no complications afterwards, although I d...

Re: FR's atmosphere currently.
I'm not really the best person at picking up on atmosphere, but I have been on forums where people are just plain nasty to each other, and even if it can get a bit heavy handed here, for such a popular and busy forum, it's actually amazingly nice. No one ever makes personal digs at other people, for...

Re: I feel sick - why have they done this
Could it have been that certain illnesses make the rat smell worse to the cagemates (which is why sometimes rats that have never done it before will attempt to eat the body)? One of my boys recently passed away and I noticed after taking his body away and cleaning the cage out that it doesn't smell ...

Re: Can a dog live with rats?
Another side to the story... Sometimes dogs are distressed by rats! My own dog is scared of my rats. If they're in the cage or if I am holding them, he's fine (obviously this only happens from a distance anyway - holding them, I mean, I don't hold them near him) but if they are near him in any other...

Re: Photos of Essex
I'm sure I've posted pics of my Essex boys before, but any excuse to show 'em off again... Both were/are black essex, I actually got Ace because Rocksteady was one of my heart rats. Unfortunately, however, most of my pics of Rocksteady are on my Myspace (which I never use because it's so slow and an...

Re: Why do I go on Preloved!?
If he's free and you're worried about where else he might end up, perhaps you could 'rehome' him with a view to rehome him again yourself? That's the biggest worry I have with rats that I know I can't rehome myself. I once rehomed a boy off Gumtree (for free). No idea how old he is, but his old owne...
