:-? are Zazie's? her ears are always positioned like this, as opposes to my Siamese Zima's ears are facing the front and upright. yup just like that, its a term describing when a top eared rat holds their ears out sideways/flatter as if they are wearing an invisible hat (i always imagine a bowler h...
They look like Russian Blue Agouti dumbos to me, i had one of those  http://i466.photobucket.com/albums/rr28/snaisby/Ratties/IMG_3145.jpg This shows his colour when he was about 12 weeks http://i466.photobucket.com/albums/rr28/snaisby/Ratties/a167eeff.jpg http://i466.photobucket.com/albums/rr2...
If she is gasping for breath, lethargic, has pale/blue extremities or feels really cold then she needs an emergency vet. Otherwise if she is bright and not struggling to breathe, she should be ok to wait until the morning. Try not to panic, it will stress her out too :) hope she is all better soon :...
The bar spacing actually doesn't look all that wide, do you have boys or girls? Might get away with it! Also, it comes in bigger :o http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/dogs/dog_cages_carriers/carriers/metal_cages_and_boxes/139799 ETA if bar spacing is 2.7cm that's the same as the spare Nero cage i have, a...
If you can see them they are lice, they are species specific so you don't need to worry about your dog. They def need treating with ivermectin (eg. Beaphar Spot on) asap, and make sure you wash your hands/change your clothes between handling the rescues and your own :dumbogirly: rats so you don't tr...
If they are happy with being held and not too stressed a quick wipe with a warm damp flannel will get the worst off and stimulate them to groom themselves. As Raz says however, once in a clean environment they will soon clean themselves up. they might need a bit of help with their tails though, bris...
how strange lol, someone must have actively turned it round - why?? Anyhoo OP i found a good pic of my cage door so you can kinda see what i mean: http://i466.photobucket.com/albums/rr28/snaisby/Cages/fa2d8288.jpg The bars above the door were already bent by the previous owner opening and closing it...
Dad was dumbo, mum was top eared. Milo as a baby Hat ears aren't linked to dumbo parents, it's just the way some top-eared rats hold their ears :) Domino could do lovely hat ears http://i466.photobucket.com/albums/rr28/snaisby/Ratties/P1070474.jpg But be a proper top ear when he felt like it http:/...
Just take a pair of pliers and bend the top of the clasps back a bit so the angle is more acute. that way don't don't need to slot behind the bars anymore. you might need to then make the next bend a bit more acute as well so it hooks onto the bars well enough. this was the first thing i did when i ...
To be honest, and not wanting to sound pessimistic, i would be going for symptom relief at this stage rather than worrying too much about long term side effects of meds. If the symptoms of diabetes aren't bothering him, I would stick with the steroids, because that's what will give him good quality ...
How much do your girlies weigh? I know i've seen people use Tommys for girls before, according to google the bar spacing is just under 1 inch so i would wait til you get it and pop your girls in it supervised for a while, see whether they can actually squeeze out. £40 is a bargain for that cage! I w...
Looking at the shape of it i'm sure the 95cm height includes the stand, the cage part is definitely wider than it is tall. The stands looks to take up about 1/4 of the height so it's probably more like 70-75cm tall, a bit smaller than a Jenny. Looks quite similar to a Jenny KD on a stand actually. H...
