Re: Emergency rat plans
They'd be the first 'things' I got out. I have it planned in my head for if there's a fire or anything - we have 2 large groups so we'd grab a carrier each and empty one lot each.

Re: blood in eye?
We've seen the vet and she was stumped - she's never seen this (technical term hyphema) in a rat. Thoughts were bleeding issue (she's a squirrel), trauma or blood pressure. She's going to do some research but has given her a vitamin K injection in case it is clotting-related, and we're to give her s...

blood in eye?
We noticed last night when saying goodnight to the rats that one of them had what looked like blood inside her eyeball. It's at the bottom of here eye, but moves when you alter the angle she's at, so it's definitely liquid - like this http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=hyphema&hl=en&rlz=1T4GGHP_en-GBG...

Re: Freeranging 2 groups at same time
We used to divide the rat room in 2 with correx and freerange at the same time. Use something that bends so you can bend the bottom along the floor to prevent noses poking intot he other side. Now we have managed to get our 2 groups to freerange together which makes life so much easier. There is the...

We've bought dry soya beans (oragnic ones) and soaked and roasted them. There's also soya flakes from Rat Rations.

Re: Harrison's banana brunch
That's kind of what I was wondering. It's more expensive at Vio-vet but I can get free postage if I buy a sack of it plus a sack of Dene's. I don't really need any other RR stuff at the moment tho.

Re: where do the red bugs come from?
We caught it from a show a few months ago. The treatment gets rid of them really quickly, but the egg cases can remain attached to the hair for a long time as they generally just come out when the hair is moulted.

Try septrin.
Re: Cake!
Any cake is suitable - as a treat. We usually get a jamaica ginger cake or golden syrup cake as they're not huge but there's enough to go round.
