Re: Emergency rat plans
They'd be the first 'things' I got out. I have it planned in my head for if there's a fire or anything - we have 2 large groups so we'd grab a carrier each and empty one lot each. In case of a fire we are sorted. Our girls live in an Explorer in the lounge - the room with the front door. They would...

Re: how much blood = foul?
I'm no expert in the subtleties (or not) of boys but if it was my girls kicking off like that I think I'd move the group to a smaller cage like for intros to sort out their differences and then increase space once it had calmed down again like after intros. Obviously castration is an option that sho...

Re: Can I please have some opinions?...
I'm in Caerleon, newport, gwent. I have managed to get myself a second hand jenny from a girl on my facebook that lives 2 mins away so picking that up tomorrow at 4pm! Cant wait, boy is going in for castration tomorrow if the vet thinks hes in good enough condition to go through with it, if he does...

Re: Introductions after cagemate's death...
but no spayed females. We're ringing Woodgreen tomorrow to ask if they have females around his age that are already spayed which seems to be an option we're hoping for. I would have thought a rescue centre would be very pro spaying/neutering because of potential mammary tumor risks associated with ...

Re: Galvanised Steel & Stainless Steel Explorer Trays
they'd moved it to 'Market Place' because it was in the wrong place, then deleted it, that's what I don't get lol It's here http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/community/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=157070 . Some of the content was probably deleted which was against forum rules or if it needed tidying up. Threads ...

Re: Flat Packable cages
It might be relevant, but around 5yrs ago the IMACs rebranded a good few cages. The original ones were really good and hard-wearing. The sort of cages that lastest years if you looked after them right, and often, even if you didn't ofteThen they started copying ferplast a bit and brought out flatpa...

Re: Cages for 8 does
Ah ok. Do the bits on the side not keep substrate in without using correx? I assumed you used it because you liked an extra deep layer of substrate for digging. They do, but not really much depth. I do like a deep layer, yup. But also that was my cage at uni where my bedroom had a carpet rather tha...

Well done for taking them in. There's a Jenny in Cardiff on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-Ferplas ... 35b43fd2ac if that's any use.

Re: Cages for 8 does
  I wouldn't have 8 in a mini though, 6 is my max. I was only meant to have 4 in mine, but I accidently somehow got dridh and Norey, and then worried about going up to 6 with the Zephyrs due to the small floorspace. But it's alright with a cat litter tray for more substrate higher up. 8 i...

Re: Flat Packable cages
This is the bigger version that I found http://www.superpetshack.com/rat-100-double-12354-bru.html . I have seen a similar cage before and I wasn't too impressed but it was really old. Others have also said that they rate IMACs. Still leaning towards a Samo but I'm not convinced about the clips if t...

Re: Cages for 8 does
You can very easily sort the shallow base issues with aviaries by attaching something solid and plastic to the outside. I've given a deep 'base' to my mini brio by attaching correx, and am going to attach lino to the outside of my duetto for the same. It's only a restriction/ negative if you let it...

There's what seems to be a good bargain in the marketplace http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/community/v ... 2&t=157599 . They may courier if asked. Or this http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/community/v ... 2&t=157580
