Re: Damaged legs or back

It could be a broken leg or just a really bad sprain. Poor girl :( . Metacam is brilliant stuff, should help a great deal

Edit: It'd be better to move her to a small cage/carrier to restrict her movement for a day or two

Re: Damaged legs or back

Have you taken her to a vet? It sounds like she is in desperate need of pain relief.

Re: Mum wont stop feeding the rats...

Ah Liverpudlian mum! Liverpudlian nans are much worse, I'm sure it's to do with living through the war and rationing. If you could see the amount of food my nan tries to make us eat when we go down, she's an amazing cook and as well as starting the day on a pile of bacon butties and the huge roast ...

Re: Mum wont stop feeding the rats...

Simply point out that she's making them fat and unhealthy, reel off the health problems in obese rats. Surely she'll see your point if you tell her she's making them unhealthy. My nan is like this, she went to feed her cat bacon fat the other day, I soon put a stop to that! She tried to feed my boys...

Boys all flaked out

Hi Is anyone else's gang all flaked out tonight? I got my lot out for free range and I didn't see hide nor hair of them, they just hid in various boxes etc and when I put them back in the cage they all flopped in their hammocks or on the shelf, even when their dry food was waiting for them at the bo...

Re: Big hole in rats back....

Better to keep everything in one thread.

I've seen wounds like that a couple of times, it'll knit itself together tonight and you'll be amazed at how quick it heals. Just keep it clean.

Re: I Think I Might've Found The Ultimate Intro Method.....

I posted about this method a long time ago and I got told off by other members saying bathing them at the same time only adds to the stress of intros, because my boys hate getting bathed. I knew it worked and no-one believed me! *humph*. Well done on successful, and soggy, intros!

Re: Scared :(

Rats are weird, the tiniest thing out of place or a slightly strange smell can set them off and they think the world is coming to an end. Once during free range there was a shoe left on the floor and our old boy Roger stopped and stared at it then legged it under the couch and wouldn't come out for ...

Re: Adding 2 babies to 6 adults

I'd put them all in the carrier and see what happens. With the babies being so young intros should be easy, the other girls won't view them as a threat. I wouldn't worry too much about Potter, again as the babies are so young.

Re: Freddy 2

Depends what accessories came with it. I got a Freddy for £10 once, it was in perfect condition but had no shelves or anything. I wouldn't pay £40 personally.
