Re: Where/how long do you free-range?

My two boys are free-ranged in the passage, which leads to the bathroom and the upstairs passage (they haven't figured out the stairs yet thank god! I have enough trouble with my chinchilla !) They get about an hour a night, maybe more or less depending on just how busy I am. After about 10 minutes ...

Re: Exercise.

I think I might well build a box mansion. There's plenty of old boxes lying around Yes Ive heard of the shutamite diet. When my sister had rats, she fed her on it I'd love the feed them it, but at the moment, not very finanically available! (I'm only 16, get £30 EMA and the spare money that I don't ...

Re: Exercise.

I'd appricate some ideas too. Both my boys are exactly the same! Are they food oreintated? I'd suggest having a tasty treat that they can't resist but make them chase after it for awhile before they get at it. Scatter feed them if you dont already so that they have to work for their food. What are ...

Re: Pets at home

Surely at the end of the day, all rats need a home, whether they are from a breeder or a pet shop? Yes, the pet shop trade is awful, and I don't condone it. I will never buy rats from a petshop, unless I felt sorry for the poor thing. But Pets At Home is much better than some of the small pet stores...

I've seen them in B&Q before, I think most DIY stores would sell them? :)

Re: Who takes their rats out with them?

I used to take my past rat out with me. He was a lone rat and loved being anywhere I was, so he used to go into my pocket. I never really kept him out much outside though, but he loved being around the house. My two boys now, I've never took outside. I think they would be pretty scared. But they are...

Re: too old to learn their names? AND neuter enquiry.

My two boys I got at the age of 6 months, big beautiful squishy boys. They are litter mates, and have been together since birth. They were fine for a few weeks. Then they started fighting, and majorly. I split them daily from fighting and they spent so much time seperately out so they couldnt harm o...

Hoarding food?

My two boys absolutely love food They get fed usually in the morning and then some fresh food and titbits at nighttime before I go to bed. But what I'm worried about/thinking why, is they dive on the food bowl as soon as I put it in the cage and start gathering the food together. All the of the favo...

Re: PAH adoption system - Debate

My first rat was from P@H. He was 8 weeks old and taken to the vets by them to be PTS as he had severe headtilt and nobody would ever buy him! They assumed he would be PTS and so left him there. My sister (who worked at the vets at the time) saw him and immeditely stopped him from being PTS and brou...

Re: Timid Rescues Spend Free Range Time Hiding =[

Sounds like your doing fine :D I'm sure with more time they'll run around like your other girls!
My past rat would always hide at free-range time, he was the softest friendliest rat, but I think he may have been scared of big open places!
