Re: An overview of the new forum

I haven't read through most of this thread but was just thinking, for the members who aren't as active and wouldn't read bits of the forum like this, would it maybe be a good idea to replace the Ratwarehouse ad with some kind of banner saying that the site had moved and giving the new address? If s...

That depends more on your email provider than the forum (the forum sends them out instantly). Check your spam mail though, just in case!

Re: An overview of the new forum

No, but I know that there are other users called Kate - and perhaps they were wanting to use just their name, too. If you're not fast, you're last - so if you're the first person to register using Kate then it's yours! It is the end of an era in a way. I'll be glad for the new forum's new joining d...

Re: A new type of coat?? *TONS of pictures and info*

He looks like a hairless to me - there are a few "hairless" genes and some of them have more fur than others (none are entirely hairless). You can select them for being more hairless, if you continnue with the line. They tend to be stronger and easier to breed than the naturally very hairless genes,...

Re: Classroom pets?

I say goodnight to the rats about 11pm-midnight, and although I sometimes pop in there of a morning to check everyone's OK, often they're on their own until I get home at 5pm from work. I think it's probably worth contacting a local breeder and asking wh...

Re: anyone got HAIRLESS rats? i have 1

I had a few who were healthy enough, lived long lives, were very hairless - and did not lactate when bred from, so proving their line unviable. Sadly the others (a dozen or more) I've had have been the furrier type who do lactate (hence there being so many of them about!), that seem to be unhealthy ...

Re: Diluited Mink

IT depends on the marking more than the colour. Many marked rats have paler colour than full coloured rats - not always, but fairly often.

Re: Diluited Mink

She's mink. Her colour is paler (diluted) because she's marked, but it's up to you if you want to call her mink or diluted/pale mink.
