Re: Will they be okay?

I left my rats with my mum when i was away for 5 days cause I didn't know anyone closer. I left her a wee list about cleaning, feeding, free range etc. She kept them in the spare room which was empty at the time but after taking the dog out (collie who loves to chase!) she let them out in the living...

Re: emergency evacuation plans

I always had a carrier near the cage in case i needed to grab them in an emergency.. however.. never thought about the water in the cage (always had towels for bedding) but i suppose I could always buy some water / cucumber etc at the shop. i used to live in a ground floor flat so always had a windo...

Re: Do anyone's rats stash things in silly places?

Almost a whole bag! little devils :angryrat:  Also found lots of leaflets, random bits of paper,...

Re: Correx - where art thou?!

I got some on ebay a while ago. Paid about £10 for 10 big sheets. about 2.5 foot tall so big enough to keep the ratties in and .. er.. 'small' enough to step over
(Being a shorty I did need a wee step to step over it and fetch ratties out!)

Re: Can rats have corn on the cob?

not sure about the dried corn on the cob but next time get fresh one.. its cheaper and I know mine go crazy for it.. They can't just sit and share.. it gets pulled all over the cage and its the one food that causes squabbles :)

Re: lump - wait to see if it grows, or not?

I've got one girl with a lump which i've decided not to get removed because of her age.. and the fact that it has stopped growing (actually seemed smaller today  but probably just me) but had a girl who was pts recentely who had 2 lumps. Got one removed because it grew so fast (almost doubled ...

Alpha battle after cage mate gone

Trying not to intervene in the little squabbles that have started after a cage mate death. Daisy has always been alpha in the cage.. little madam she is. However, after her sister Dotty died, Daisy and Hamish have been power grooming, pinning, squeaking etc.. Wasn't bothered me at first but now Hami...

Re: sneezing & porphyrin - advice please!

I'm sure someone will come along and jump on you for using bio catolet. However, I used it for about a year without issues. Its supposed to be highly scented and can set some people off (I never really noticed it) so might affect the ratties. Maybe worth trying some plain shredded cardboard like fin...

Re: Eye probs

My Dotty had an eye problem almost permanantely. Turned out to be allergies but could never work out what she was allergic to! Fucithalmic eye drops did help a lot and are really easy to put on ratty eyes.
