Re: URGENT INFO RE: Steroids for daisy... very ill :(

Thankyou for the quick replies, we've seen the vet and he thinks she may have a silent pneumonia, she's had pneumonia before but i've never heard of silent pneumonia so not sure if it's similar or something totally different. I asked his opinion on whether we should pts or try a steroid shot first a...

URGENT INFO RE: Steroids for daisy... very ill :(

I've got an appt this afternoon as Daisys chronic resp problems have became a lot worse since early this morning, we lost one of our healthy girls very suddenly to a suspected virus 2 weeks ago so we've been treating the whole group with Baytril/Doxy just incase, Daisy was already on these meds anyw...

Re: Fresh kelp.... is it safe to feed ?

Thanks for the info, toxins and things are what I was wondering about. Apparently the sea and beaches are very clean around here, they normally get quality coast and Blue flag awards but i'm not sure if that would make much difference to toxins and things in the sea, also he normally fishes off the ...

Fresh kelp.... is it safe to feed ?

I know a lot of people add dried kelp pieces to their mix but it's never crossed my mind until now whether it would be safe to feed the fresh stuff to our girls. My oh's always moaning about getting his fishing line snagged on kelp when fishing so thought he could bring some home, i'm just not sure ...

Re: Abdomonal mass :0(

The last girl we had x-rayed showed up what the vet described as a solid mass, she said you wouldn't be able to tell from an x-ray if it was a tumour or an abcess so I presume it would also be the same for fatty lumps. The only girl we've had with a lump within the abdomen turned out to be a liver t...

Re: Lethargic with Swollen nose and Increased porph/blood?

I've rang the emergency vets for advice and they said to bring the affected girls in but I thought you wern't supposed to with a suspected virus, does anybody know what I should be doing? Also would a blood test help, I don't want to be hanging about if it's okay to take them as we lost Poppy within...

Re: Lethargic with Swollen nose and Increased porph/blood?

I've just checked my meds and I also have Doxy but I don't think i'll have enough Baytril to do all nine girls tonight, I know I shouldn't be taking them to the vets incase they spread a potential virus but how will I know what they have if I don't go? Will it be best just to get someone to collect ...

Re: Potential mix?

Your mix is very similar to what I used to use and found my girls did really well on it, I also found dried veges and a mixture of seeds went down well as part of the mix and are easy to get hold of, infact I could buy everything apart from the rabbit food and herbs from most supermarkets which was ...

Re: Lethargic with Swollen nose and Increased porph/blood?

Thankyou x oh's outside digging a hole, ready to bury her in the garden alongside the rest of her friends. We originally adopted Poppy and her sister because she was a biter and my oh was worried that whoever got them might hurt her if she bit them. We would often end up with really nasty bite wound...
