Re: Feeder breeding discussion.

and if the NFRS get a formal written complaint against one of our members, it will be discussed and investigated within the committee, but we can't act on rumour mongering or random comments on forums which name no names. Mod note: locked temporarily for FRA discussion. The topic may be split, again...

Re: Dumbo Rat Breeders in Sussex / Kent

When i asked the same question on here Oct 2007 i was slammed for asking for breeders and not the hallowed rescues the bias towards rescues and against breeders causes an often hostile attitude towards breeders on threads on this forum and the reality is a large percentage of the "good" b...

Re: Looking for dumbo breeders in Bedford/shire

drop an email to breeders@nfrs.org, there is at least one NFRS registered breeder in the Bedford area and she is not on this forum.

Re: breeding rats

I'm on my home system from work and have no requests for breeders lists pending, i cleared out about 10 first thing this morning and sent the autoreplies. I don't read them beyond checking they are asking for rats and not clearly spam, so don't know who's i've dealt with and who's i've not. If you'v...

Re: problems with order from NFRS

Can you both email me the details on treasurer@nfrs.org please and i'll see what i can find out for you or at least give you a phone number for our promotions officer. As far as i know all orders received tend to go out pretty promptly, so probably the first thing to check is whether the order was r...

Re: care book suitable for child

I would have said the My Rat DVD is far more likely to keep a child interested than a book - obtainable from the NFRS, see http://www.nfrs.org/sales.html

Re: bleeding after birth

if i have to take a doe with babies to the vet i usually take them in their nursery cage together, particularly when they are that young. If the cage is too big to carry, then i'd move the igloo complete with babies and nest into a smaller cage for the trip.

Re: bleeding after birth

this would probably have got better response in breeding & varieties. Any bleeding much after birthing is something to be concerned about. Within a matter of hours of birthing any signs of discharge from the uterus should have stopped and the doe usually cleans herself up well. With bleeding hap...

Re: What Will I Need to Prepare For? (Petstore Rats)

try contacting someone at this club - m - i don't know if the club is based anywhere near you in Germany, but they may be able to help with contact details for breeders as i seem to remember when i judged their show a few years back, their breeders travelled from pretty much all over to get to the s...

Re: youngest age to sell babies?

My only horror story of an intro going badly wrong was introducing an adult (around year old) rescue doe to 5 week old kittens and she killed one of them in an instant - the intro was on a table but i still couldn't get to baby fast enough, she went straight for the back of it's neck. I am very care...

Re: Any breeders have current litters?

People do not pay a "fee" to be on the NFRS members list. They have to be paid up members of the NFRS to go on the list. L x I thought I would need to pay an extra tenner to get on the breeders list, apart from my membership fees? Or is that not so? I think when Lisa said 'NFRS list', she...

Re: Any breeders have current litters?

NFRS have a set of selling guidelines - m)%20V[1][1].3.pdf and as Lisa said, if we had sufficient complaints about a breeder, the committee would take some action and potentially remove if there were a number of serious complaints and the breeder clearly took no action on being told there had been c...

Re: Two ancient rats ...

tardak does not remove fertility, it only suppresses testosterone production. With rats that age, chances are either or both are infertile, but there's always the odd exception to the rule and historically i know of a situation a number of years back where a 3 year old buck sired a litter with a 2.5...

Re: Any breeders have current litters?

there are a number of breeders who have kittens advertised on the NFRS members only forum - i know this probably isn't a lot of use to you, but if you drop an email to breeders@nfrs.org, we can drop back a copy of the breeders list and you can make a few calls. Without knowing where you are, i can't...
