Re: wire flooring

is it one of these? m If I had one, I'd take all the shelves out and replace them with Ferplast corner shelves so I had more room to hang hammocks and other toys. I'd also take the wire flooring out as it's not really doing much, and if the rats pee on it it'll just rust. it is very much like that ...

Re: my rats still dont trust me

We've had rats like that. You'll likely find that getting in there and forcing them to be handled will speed things up. It's not as traumatic as it might sound. Once they're out with you they should start to settle a lot faster and will start associating you with safety (and fun and treats as well ...

Re: my rats still dont trust me

How far away is the cage door from the bed? If they can't reach a Cheerio it seems that maybe the door is quite high up and so they're just scared of jumping! What cage is it you have? It doesn't sound as though they are frightened of you, can you pick them up? If not, try the cage on the bed again...

i think i may be enemy number 1 in my rats eyes..

okay, so i got the rats a day or so ago, and i needed to clean the cage out as they seem to have completely chucked their bedding everywhere .. i rang the pet shop and they said this was okay.. WELL! i opened the door and 'Cream' came running up, so i handed her a cheerio and she took that and went ...
