Re: Building the Explorer

Before you blame us for not giving them - we chucked them out as they were useless! We used the website link someone else mentioned. Glad it's all up now though!

Re: flatten!

Mine do it either when they're in heat - they'll flatten themselves against the floor at the slightest touch! (hours of fun for me... scratching their backs until their ears twitch like crazy and they pancake  ) or when they've just had enough, are hot and just find somewhere cool (like a shelf...

Explorer Cage Failings?

Hey all! Just looking for some opinions here more than anything. I have the untidiest rats in the history of the world :P I don't want to make the cage too boring for them, but I can't have them throwing everything outside the cage as they do now as I'm in a rented house. At the moment they're on fl...

Re: How many rats do you have in your Explorer?

I have 9 - but mine use the whole thing fully, and that number includes two lazy neutered Bucks who love the igloo too much :P Also we make good use of the space available. I think 10 would be an ok number, wouldn't go much above that in my opinion. I downgraded from a Furet Tower (where they only u...

Re: Building the Explorer Cage

I sent a rather hasty email to the place I got it from last night, and got a very prompt response this morning. I'm very impressed with them - they said they'll pass on the complaint to liberta, and sending me free accessories to compensate. VERY impressed, I was very... foul mouthed... shall we say...

Re: Building the Explorer Cage

Urgh, well this is an update I'd rather not have to write. The shelf with the gap for the ladder came with EXTRA pieces of wire it seems the manufacturer had just not bothered to cut off. Which meant I was lucky that my OH was around to clip them back or I could not have put them together tonight. I...

Building the Explorer Cage

HELP! Can't put this thing together! The shelf with the hole in it for the ladder (i.e. the top of the bottom half) doesnt seems to want to fit in where it should go. Anyone else had this problem, or can think of a solution? Anyone know of any decent instructions to put it together easier either? lo...

Re: help me make my cage more active

I meant the ladders you can hook across the cage - I have mine hung loosely and at an odd angle, so it acts as one of those wobble bridges you get at the childrens activity centres some places if you know the things I mean! at the moment mines hung at a bit of an angle so they can't use it too...

Re: help me make my cage more active

Mine love the ladders - I like to hang them loosely so they move and make things more difficult for them! They seem to like pushing each other off  so I never put them too high lol! But that nut-toy thing is an awesome idea. I use vegetable holder things in weird places and hide treats and stu...

Re: help me make my cage more active

Have a look on the 'show your setup' pages, there usually lots of great ideas on there! Lots of stuff from poundshops is great - I use bird toys too (ropes/branches and things) from ECF - got a big order coming soon :D

Also make sure that they're not just active when you're asleep, like mine

Re: JustCages.co.uk

I cancelled my order. Thinking about going to petsworlddirect place instead if they are telling the truth! Waiting for funds to come back into my account then I'm going to ring and order.

Hopefully.

Introduction Problems - Blood

Hey all, Had a quick introduction of the new babies to the established group this evening. One rat - Patch - a rescue from this site, who has been neutered, flipped out and ended up drawing small amounts of blood from not only the new rats, but from 2 of the established group too. We removed the babi...

Re: Liberta Corner Parrot Cage

Yeah, with all the bird cages I'm not sure if the wire bases are easy to remove or not either. It's just so confusing. Wish the explorer wasn't out of stock :(

Re: Liberta Corner Parrot Cage

Main reason for looking at explorer was the access and price. This cage seems to have good access. I guess it really comes down to the bar spacing :-| don't know what to do. Can't have them living in a cage their in at the moment until Jan. My budget is only around £150, can't seem to find any secon...
