Exactly the same problem here. Have 1 very hefty girl and 3 slender girls who I'd be happy to gain a bit more. I haven't noticed Lily eating more than the others but I guess she might be a bit less active.
Can you use finacard or ecopetbed as substrate & hemcore or something equally as cheap in litter trays? I use bio catolet In the trays but it's expensive & I go through a bag quickly. Was wondering If I could get a bale of something cheap for the litter?
Here's my Abode at the moment (the wire mesh is because when Lily was smaller she could fit through all the gaps which were wider than the normal bar spacing...I've only bothered to remove the bit covering where the tray comes out. Despite that not being a long time ago, she's now my heaviest girl s...

I can just about make it through a week without changing if I put shredded paper in the hammocks and change daily (if the paper smells). That seems to work and I have a huge bag of shredded paper from the office so not a problem. My girls aren't huge chewers so that's good. Changing 2 times a week w...

I have 4 girls who's cage are in my hallway (I live in a one bedroom ground floor flat). They currently freerange in the hallway and connecting bathroom. The problem is they are ripping up my carpet and it's new!! (my whole flat even the kitchen is this carpet!) Every corner they constantly go to no...
Can we have some pics of the different substrates you use? I'm currently using recycled bank notes which I got in a huge bale from a breeder but when it finishes I will probably try finacard or ecopetbed.

I would never let them near anything you don't want chewed! I've had so much chewed in the past but this time I'm being vigilant. Mine have the hallway (no wires or electrical equipment) and the bathroom. They love the bathroom, they climb in the bath, in the sink (they even have a little splash in ...
Cheers for replying guys. I know she's a test biter because she does it out of the cage. This seemed different because she went straight at me like I imagine a snake would if it went in for a bite! I think she might be being territorial too. I've read you should pin them down if they do this but I c...
She's sitting on me right now being rather cuddly! She is a terrible nibbler though, nibbles everything! She loved freerange and even had a swim in some water in the sink (They freerange in my hall and bathroom and jump all over the place, they love drinking out the cold tap! So I decided to add som...
I just went to get the girls out for free range and Echo was in the corner bucket so called her and she looked over the edge, put my hand near the bucket but not in it. She put her head near my hand I thought she was going to climb onto it but her head disappoint and when she appeared again she went...
