Re: male rat --agression

Well what i meant by he tries to 'kill' another rat is, He continuously attacks, biting, screeching, and clawing the other rat(s). I really want a second rat, but i am not sure if that will ever be possible with siggy acting out the way he does. I cant afford to have him neutered -so that option is ...

male rat --agression

I have a male rat about 8-9 months old, he currently lives alone because he tries to kill any other rat I try to put in with him. I know ratties need other rats companionship for health and wellbeing, but I can't seem to get him to agree to a second rat in his cage. What should i do? He has also bec...

Sweets

Are sweet things like cake and doughnuts bad for rats? I have heard mixed things, and am still unsure about it.
My rats loooove sweets like above mentioned but I am not sure if i am doing them harm by giving in to their sweet tooth?

Re: Biting

Thank You all for your advice, I sure do appreciate it. I know this is a u.k. based website-i live in the usa, and where i live it seem particularly hard to find a good qualified vet that will devote time into spaying or neutering rattys. I have found one vet willing to do the procedure, but she wan...

Re: Biting rat - help!

I dunno, I am in the same situation as you. Only difference is mine are boys not girl rattys. It is frustrating because I love em' sooo much, but they just can't get past their scared stage (Or the biting stage as far as bristol is concerned.) Let me know if you figure anything out with your girls, ...

Re: Stashing Food!

All three of my boys do this act of food hoarding lol, I just keep around an extra dish for bogey- as he is the baby and needs most of the calories now.
good luck

I just wanted to share that my 3 rattie boys absolutely adore Gerber Graduate meat stix!

I feed them once a week as a special treat-everytime they are a big hit with Bristol,Bindi, and Bogey =)
They also worked well as a mode of training.

Smiles,
