ok i am pretty obsessed by blues at the moment, i think its probably because in cornwall you dont see so many of them, i know i posted a topic awhile ago about blues but i have come across another litter of blues in a pet shop that are very pale in colour, the other litter i saw was quite a dark sla...

We'll have russian blue eventually, if you're willing to wait, and my 'OH' is in exeter.

thats really sad that british blue mums bled to death, i got to admitt i have no idea what type of blues the ones i saw was genetics i'm afraid just throw me but i kind of understand that you only need rats that carry blue to produce blues ie you could mate two himmies that carry blue and therefore ...

its funny that if a black carries blue and mates with another blue carrier there could be blues in a litter, i guess its cos i always thought that black was a predominant colour

i agree blue rats are gorgeous and it did take me all my will power not to buy some lol
i think if i could locate a breeder closer to home i would be very tempted
so do you have to have two blue rats to produce blue ?

blues

after visiting PAH months back they had a whole tank of blue dumbo males, which kind of got me thinking because i dont know about the rest of the country but in cornwall its not often you come accross blue rats, so are they quite rare and difficult to breed ?

i guessed at the 2 lighter ones being champagne or silver fawns, either way they will be coming home with me, along with the cutie black berkie :)
btw kelsie thinks her new diesel the weasel is a cutie SS :)

thats ok and i'll definately give her scritches. i have had rats for 16 years and have never seen a rat as bad as this. its very hard to describe her condition really as its quite errattic, if it is something more sinister than an ear infection at least i will be able to give her a dignified ending
