Re: An overview of the new forum

Is there a Rat-Related Chit-chat, or has that been incorporated into the other sections?

ETA: It looks amazing, you've all done such a wonderful job!

ETA2: found it, sorry

Re: Trimming nails of nervous rat?

I did think about that, but bonding is happening so slowly that I'm worried it would take a huge step backwards. But if its the only way then I guess I don't have much choice... its so hard when you can't explain to them that its only to help them lol :)

Trimming nails of nervous rat?

I'm ready to start introducing my latest girl to my main group, but because she's been left in a dull cage for so long, her claws have gotten out of hand and are terribly sharp. I hate to think of the damage they could do if intros got out of hand :( The problem is, she's been alone since "sometime ...

Re: Strange event

That's the exact same as my Layla, she went through the same moult etc, here's a pic from a few months ago: http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r304/GCG90/DSCF4382.jpg I wonder if it might be dove, but I've never seen pics of dove rats, only read the description. Sorry that's not very helpful, but at...

Re: Rex rats

So are the ingrown eyelashes a common thing? And will it happen more than once, and does it need surgery? Also, do cysts need vet attention or only if they start causing problems? Scared now :o

Rex rats

I've got my name down for a rex baby, and I've only ever had smooth coats before, so I just wondered if there are any issues I should be aware of? I know some varieties have problems, like blues with blood clots or whatever, so is there anything I need to know about rexes? (And pics of your rexes wo...

Identifying these grains/seeds

My base mix doesn't list the ingredients, so I wondered if anyone could let me know what's actually in it and if it is okay to use. My girls eat everything in it, which is good, and I just use it as a base for the shunamite diet so I want to make sure that all the grains etc are okay. http://i147.ph...

What colour/markings is she?

This is Giselle, my newest lady, and I'm not sure of her colour. She's darker than my champagne hoody but she seems to be a bit whiter around the nose/mouth. Also, is she variegated or just mismarked hooded? Thanks :) http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r304/GCG90/IMAG0044.jpg http://i147.photobucket...

Re: Changing rat's name?

Well, I picked up my new girly, and her name is Gretchen :-? That reminds me of an old neighbour and it just doesn't suit her at all, so I'll be changing it. I'm relieved that so many people have changed names, makes me more comfortable doing it :)

Re: Changing rat's name?

Thanks for all the view points, I'm really intrigued :) I suppose I don't know until I meet the girly, I don't even know her name yet, so have no idea if it'll suit or not.
