DO NOT BUY THAT CAGE! I did for one rat before i knew about keeping more than one and cage sizes etc I hated it was to small and a night mare to clean. it's terrible please don't make the same mistake as I did. I only had one girl in it for a few month then i got rid of that curs of a cage and moved...

One of my girls ( Topsy ) sounds just like your boy, bad hygiene all that sort of thing, her tail get's alot like how your boys tail sounds I just put a little bit of Olive Oil on it, just brush the Olive Oil on the tail with a pastry brush or any small soft brush. That may help.

Thank you I think the painkillers have settled her down unless its just my imagination, I'll keep my eye on her.

I have no idea if this is helpful but she is 9 weeks and 2 days old.

I cant really say if ingrowing eyelashes are that common, but I think the vet would need to do surgery if the ratties had that problem, but im no expert. I can give you any details about the operation as my little Heidi had it. Can't say I know much about cysts.

My rex had a problem with ingrowing eyelashes she had an operation today, but she was from a pet shop. :oops:

My vet specializes in small animals so not sure if that makes a difference. :-| But thank's for your reply it's nice to have lots of opinions to work with.

Thank you guy's, it is not really that much money it just seems it to my dad and its alot when you haven't got much. But I always have money put to one side just incase the ratties get sick.
