Re: Rat sucking belly in?

I have 3 that are all respy. These were from a pet shop though so i assume it's from being kept on rubbish stuff originally or down to genetics as far as i'm aware they're all the same litter. I keep mineon future bedding (cardboard squares) and have always kept them well ventilated and clean. The r...

Is he going to be going in with boys or girls? If it's girls you have to keep them apart for a little while as he may still have some surviving swimmers. Think it's 2 weeks. If he is going to be living with boys - no problem. Keep him out for a day just to make sure he's not too sore, then pop him i...

Re: Could I get some advice?

I had 2 mice develop lumps in exactly the same place literally within a week of each other. One was much faster growing and she was PTS within days of me noticing. The 2nd lived happily for a few weeks with hers and it was actually a 2nd lump that ended up being the one she was PTS for as it was und...

Re: Dehydration

Some times wetting your finger wil encourgae them to lick it off. If they don't feel up to drinking from a bottle, try a dish and try offering her it on your fingers.

Re: Could I get some advice?

Recently i had a lump removed from my porky girl, chubbo, while she was healing from that - we noticed a 2nd lump on her groin. We weren't sure if it was an injury or swelling so kept an eye on it for a couple of days. It didn't reduce or go away sio she has just had surgery for that as well. Within...

If you ring round local equestrian centres most do cardboard based bedding and mines only 5.50 for a bassive bale! Lasts us ages.

Re: Wilkinsons -_-''

As a rule of thumb mostly cheaply available wood shavings aren't suitable. Only dust extracted ones are. I stick to the safe side and use cardboard squares from an equestrian supplier.

Lump Removal Part Deux! *lots of pics*

So our tubby lump isn't having much luck with lumps. So i have had to make her a different design of the sock of shame. This is becasue her lump is on her groin and she can reach it with the standard. I cut up an old trainer sock. Removing the heel and sewed up the bit you put your foot in. I left h...

I can't believe how much you guys get chargedfor lump removals. Chubbo has just come back from her 2nd. It was 24 quid initially, then i paid for baytril. This time i had the nice ratty vet and she charged 25 quid including baytril. Love love love my vets.

Re: Black Spot Appearing On Skin

It Is fur regrowth. Chubbo has a bald patch where a delightful scab fell off yesterday from ehr baytril injection. Her skin is grey in that area where the fur us starting to grow. I put 2 and 2 together when i got the porker out and realised. Looks like poor little runty brain has been over groomed....
