Re: I dont DO climbing

Does he struggle getting to hammocks etc or just not use them? A nice big wheel! Hanging baskets (the plant ones), plastic baskets, wine rack (mine and their favourite thing in my boys cage), I'd put some ropes in anyway and if he doesnt use them then its his loss  , if he struggles getting p...

Re: I dont DO climbing

Friends? Is the new baby a male? Young rats can encourage older ones to explore and become more active. I like to have a variety in the cage, and eve if they don't use everything, every day, it's nice for them to have the choice. Putting beds up high and food scattered in the substrate can he...

Re: I dont DO climbing

How come the male isn't with the babies? I'm assuming this means he is on his own? Why? because he was recently neutered, I have to wait another 2 or 3 weeks to introduce them. he was aggressive and we believe he killed his brother, we have no idea why, they had plenty of space and food, so we got ...

Re: Slow lazy rat

All our boys are lazy.. They only get active late at night, the rest of the day they get up occasionally but sleep most of the time.. But they're definitely worse in the heat.. If you can, get a fan in the room.. Our guys love that.. If there's no other sign of illness then he should be ok :) and i...

I dont DO climbing

I just got me an explorer, baby's in the top and big male in the bottom. I gave the hammocks to the babies because i know my male rat wont use them, he doesn't do climbing.. he doesn't like having to reach up and jump on to things, and he doesn't like walking on hammocks. so what can i put in his ha...

Re: Why is it important to change water? bottle improvisation

I funnel my bottle to about a quarter full I would fill it right up when you refill as with a standard ball-bearing spout this is less likely to drip (won't nesc. start straight away). And it also means if they're thirstier than expected one day they're not penalised. It's also reccomended to have ...

Re: New water bottle

I saw those but i simply didn't like the look of them, or the price tag.. and i cant understand why you would just top it up rather than emptying/rinsing and refilling it, what were they thinking? on another note.. a PAH just opened up near me, i was there on the first day it opened and was the firs...

Re: somthing i made for my ratties!

I like carpet, but it gets really stinky really quickly :sickrat: I love making things for them though! I have an Aladino carrier too - I'm lazy and just jam the spout in between the plastic slats. I hold it in place with a loop of wire round the bottle and the handle. I tried that and it didn't fi...

Why is it important to change water? bottle improvisation

I know it sounds silly.. but i give my rats bottled spring water.. I funnel my bottle to about a quarter full because they wont drink it all in 1 day and im always told to change the water every day, but why is that exactly? Im just saying because while i was filling up the water bottles i noticed t...

Re: So i got WhiteDevil fixed...

they didn't give him anything, they just said come back in 4 days, he seems to be pretty happy, wanting to come out of his hutch but for now im just going to leave him to heal, even if that means getting a little bored, in the meantime, he is getting all of his favorite treats. If he is in pain i do...
