Re: Lumps

Well he has had an abcess before right on the underside of his throat, hopefully it will be an abcess rather than a tumor but should i wait and just monitor its size and things like that?

Re: Lumps

Forgot to mention its not actually on the skin its quite deep under the surface and you have to squish your fingers into his abdomen to get it.

Lumps

Just discovered a lump on my boy ratty, Pan. Its quite a solid lump but moves around freely, and its located on the right bottom side of his abdomen near his leg. Could it be harmful?

Re: Suddenly lethargic rat? Help :/

the vets i work at are a 30 min journey from where i live (45 min bus) so quite hard to get there, and ive only been working there for just over a month now =). Just took her down to our normal vets as i still wasnt happy and we got some synulox drops to use with the baytril.

Re: Rat eating very little

He's around 18months i think, hes just eating such tiny amounts, we did give him some catfood and he ate a bit of that but not much and the vegetables we give him he doesnt eat much of now. Need something quite calorific to help him gain back some of the weight hes lost too

Re: Suddenly lethargic rat? Help :/

Well tbh i have no idea what it could be, it came on so fast but she does have some of the signs of pneumonia and actually more signs for that than a stroke. This was a different vet to where i usually take them anyways, and i think where i take them would have said the same thing.

Re: Suddenly lethargic rat? Help :/

The vet seemed to think it was respiratory problems again, and said she sounded raspy. Shes had a shot of metcam and baytril and some baytril to go home on.

Re: Suddenly lethargic rat? Help :/

I thought it could be a stroke too. What are some of the treatments if it is? I brought her to work with me since I work at a vets and one of them is going to have a look at her soon.

Rat eating very little

we have a rat with a skin infection atm, but he's eating so very little and we're not sure what to feed him to help him gain weight as hes getting quite thin. what could we give that might encourage him to eat?

Re: Suddenly lethargic rat? Help :/

No one? I dont know what could have caused her to go from fine last night to terribly lethargic and completely not herself over the course of a day.
