Re: new owner , one rat really friendly, other a bit less so

Thanks for replying folks, looks like its quite common to have 2 differing characters! just a little question, is it a dominance thing in any way, as Jack appears to have become the dominant one of the pair? Have handled Victor a bit more today and he seems fine with me, not as lively as Jack who j...

Re: Progress!!!!

THanks for that. Took the cage away and Dave was forced to play with me, Molly and my neice. He was coming over and climbing all over us. Still dead skitty though, but a friendly enough guy none the less. Ian again, is a hero. Not bothered by any of it. Re litter training, I always put the poo in th...

Progress!!!!

Had my ratties just coming up 2 weeks, and had best free range session thus far yesterday. Based on alot of advise on here, I took a different approach. The cage is next to my daughters bed, so I stripped all the bedding off, and plonked them on there with me and Molly (my daughter btw.) They did th...

Re: Pooing everywhere

One deffo poo's more than the other. The nervous one does it alot.

Tonight I brought them out in their tube, let them settle (ie drop all their guts in the tube first) and coaxed them out later. Worked well.

Re: Pooing everywhere

Litter tray usage is a no go.

Checked the cage today (after yesterdays big clean) poo everywhere. I have scooped all the poo and put it in there too.

Came down yesterday they have gone one better, knocked their bed over the litter tray.

Thats what its like. They hold it in.

How do you cope, literally whenever they are out I spend 80% of the time cleaning up poo.

Pooing everywhere

My boys, as soon as they come out of the cage, love to drop little bombs everywhere. As soon as they come out, they cant help themselves. Dave is a little shy and hides behind cusions etc, he isnt too bad. Ian, who loves to sit on your shoulder etc cant help himself. Got him out, and he literally st...

I made a hammock out of an old hoodie of mine, pretty impressed with it. They havent used it for about 4 days, come h...
