Re: Registration on new forum

Someone else will be using the name. The new forum has been up and public for over 2 weeks now, so if you've only just registered on here, the name wouldn't have been in use when most people made the switch across - thus free for anyone else to use. Alternatively if the other person using the name j...

Re: Project Duetto [immense cage restoration] *img heavy*

I move house this weekend (the cage is set-up there already) and there isn't internet yet, although there should be very soon. It's not certain how long there'll be posting ability on here, so this way I can take the photo at my leisure and change the url PB end without worrying. Thought it would be...

Re: An overview of the new forum

I'll be glad for the new forum's new joining dates, it'll stop me occasionally realising I've spent nine years on this site, which makes me feel old as I remember it being the new! rat forum ... Yes  And realising I was cool enough to join a forum on my birthday too. Evidently that was a great...

Re: Substrate- how necessary?

Having a decent layer of substrate is also better if you do active cage layouts as it provides a layer that absorbs impact should they jump into the base (or otherwise ). It sounds like you're just not getting on with the product you use, which is fair enough since I don't like all the various ...

Re: A tad bit worried after castration

No worries, hope he improves. To be honest, even if what he's eating isn't best, so long as there's something then he'll be finnnnnnne once he's slept it off. Just be aware that the night after an op the sleep tends to be very deep. The time when they're most likely to scare you into thinking they'r...

Re: possible Pyometra with confusing symptoms

Glad you trust your vet, but I stand by the opinion that with an otherwise healthy (no resp. issues etc.) then the only longterm option when faced with uterine discharge is spaying. Not that that is overly constructive when faced with a rat who has been waiting 2 weeks though. I agree that when symp...

Re: A tad bit worried after castration

Something cooked and carby might be nice with oil, or some wet dog food if you have any. Something more meal-ish than just veggies. Glad he's eating something though - probably just milking it haha
