Re: Teacup Dumbo Rats?

Good grief. Sounds like I'd spot this mad lady a mile away, but in case she manages to pass herself off as sane, could someone PM me her name/details to make sure she is never approved to advertise on Findafurry?

Re: Gross big pink skin tag hanging out *pics*

One of mine had something just like that - I figured it didn't seem to be getting too big, didn't seem to bother her, so I left it...she died at over three, it never caused a problem.

Re: Rex breeders around/near london

Contact Fliss at Ramkin Rats. Think she will have rexies in the litter that is due. She's in Banbury though, but hey, there aren't many breeders in London so that's 'near'. Ish ;)

Re: Rats caught in a fire...smoke inhalation

Hmmm....ask the vet to listen to his heart. Maybe the extra strain of needing to deal with smoke on the lungs has affected it? Wonder if it would be worth asking for a steroid injection as well as the course of antibiotics in case there is some infection resulting from the stress and smoke? The ster...

Re: Any breeders?

My first two pairs of rats were petshop rats and until i joined this forum i was totally unaware that there were so many rats, both old and young in rescues waiting for their forever loving home, i was equally unaware that there were breeders out there who bred for health and specific variety etc. ...

Re: Any breeders?

Within 6 minutes of the OP people were already getting off the point. Surely if you don't know something e.g. breeders in the south east, it would be better to keep quiet rather than cloud the issue with information that the OP was not asking for. Maybe I'm being oversensitive but it seemed to me t...

I've been revising this stuff for a fortnight (test tomorrow!!!!!) so it's on my brain right now (hopefully not literally!!!!!). Re: Human Pregnancy and pet Rats

After posting I went and had a little rootle about. Discovered two things... 1) You can also get the virus from unwashed veggies, fruit and undercooked meat. And gardening. The reason cats carry it is because they get it from the soil outside. 2) If you've had the virus before, you'll have antibodie...

Re: Human Pregnancy and pet Rats

You are not supposed to pet your cats when you're pregnant??! I'm sure every pregnant cat owner in the country breaks that rule - how can you ignore your cats for nine months?!! I've heard of women not cleaning litter trays, but I'd never heard of that!

(congratulations on the bub-to-be by the way!)

Re: Rats caught in a fire...smoke inhalation

Oh dear - I didn't spot this post sooner! My lot were also caught in a fire (shop below our flat went up in the early hours back in September) and we took them to the vet to be checked (emergency call out). They were put in an oxygen tank and monitoried. Inflammation caused by smoke can be progressi...

Re: We have babies! (was: Poss pregnancy - new rats).

I just got 7 boys and five girls in my litter - mighty annoying as there are always more people after girls! But 12 is a good size for a litter - the mum should be able to cope fine. If you need to find homes for them in due course, try putting them up on Findafurry. Might help - you can start adver...
