Re: Question for breeders

wrats - Just out of interest, what happened to the chicks? Particularly the cockerals? A really good question Emma and I am pleased to say that they are all (hens and cockerals) living very happily with a local family who keep chickens. The chap bought the eggs, handed them over to us to incubate a...

Re: Question for breeders

I've been really interested to read this thread as I too am a science technician in a secondary school and have been seriously thinking about asking the school whether I could bring some rats into the department. I have recently lost my last two ratties so these would be new rats who would be introd...

Rackie (http://www.symphony-rats.co.uk) is in Reading, so depending where you are in Oxfordshire she might be quite near.

My vet always prescribes oral metacam along with baytril and bisolvon for respiratory infections. The doseage for metacam is only 1 drop once daily. I have seen better results with this combination than baytril alone.

Glad Star is feeling better.

I'm not sure exactly where it is - it's not in Aylesbury itself. Jenny will be able to tell you though.

Why don't you pm Jenny on here as she probably knows these particular boys as well as anyone. She might be able to tell you if she thinks they are up to a long journey.

I have had problems getting septrin into my two boys and after disguising it in anything and everything finally resorted to syringing it in. I posted this in another thread a couple of days ago. I have had two boys who absolutely hated it, but i just had to bite the bullet and get it into them. I fo...

Oh no, but get it checked out - it might not be what you think. Re the ceporex - I have had two boys who absolutely hated it, but i just had to bite the bullet and get it into them. I found the best way was to wrap them in a towel so front legs are secure, lie them on my knee (on their back, feet ag...

Don't give up hope - there can be a long life after pneumonia. My boy Barney has had recurrent respiratory problems since he was about eight months old. Last summer when he was about a year old he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He was put on a six week course of baytril, a weeks (or maybe ten days) c...

Two of my boys have been prescribed Ceporex for respiratory problems and it seemed to do the trick. The main problem I found was that they hated it - I tried disguising it in anything and everything but finally resorted to wrapping them in a towel and syringing it in. I had the one that came in a li...

Have you found him yet? If not, don't panic. If I were you I would put his cage in the room (as near to the hole as you can get it) and in it put some nice, smelly food (sardines or tuna are good) in the hope of enticing him out. You may well find that he comes back of his own accord when he smells ...

If you email kitbag@nfrs.org they will send you a list of breeders, so you'll be able to see who is near you and what they breed for. Good luck in your search.
