Re: We've been upgrading...

SargentEllie - do you mean similar to what we've done but with a 3rd SRS rather than an explorer? yeah i was thinking two 3 stories joined togethe so an srs and a half?. Do you think it would work ? I have always not liked SRS's because i thought the front opening pannels were to restrictive. Thats...

Re: We've been upgrading...

I really like that! :hearts:

I currently have two towers joined but as the abode is stupidly a diff size i cant extend upwards. I was thinking therefore about getting 3 SRS's and putting two side by side and one on top .. do srs's split that way? do people think it would work?

Re: Tilty dude rehab

I have a digging tank on a higher level so maybe i should feed in there and only a bit on the floor. I think (know) i am being to soft. He just isnt trying to climb or do anything. When i have had tilty girls before they have adapted really well but he is just a massive pudding atm.

Tilty dude rehab

I have a boy Harlot who had a bad ear infection and is now very tilty. He cant climb at all in the cage (which isnt really an issue as I have the two towers so the floor space isnt a prob) however he is just getting really really fat! My instinct is all get him out for cuddles which he loves but sho...

Re: Can anyone recommend me a good cage for two rats?

Also, budget for a cage is around £60, so I'm a tad strapped for cash - I've been researching the freddie 2's and the cheapest I can find is £100. nooooooo for £100 you could get a pretty brilliant cage! have a look on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tom-Rat-Cage-/330586214499?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_A...

Re: Can anyone recommend me a good cage for two rats?

I am one of those who likes big cages regardless of numbers, so I would say as big as you have room for / can afford. However if you want something smaller I like tom cages. They are a similar size to jennys but are coated and have reasonable access. You might also consider the abode. My current rat...

Re: Whats involved in running a rescue?

I think the knowing your own limits thing is very very very important - and recognising that there is a stage where you have to say no. I agree. One of the worst rescues I have been involved in was from a "rescue" well meaning person but had taken on way to much. I have seen it time and time again ...

Re: will it hurt them?

If you google the drug and rat LD50 you should find what an approx lethal dose is for rats, then you can find out approx how much tablet might be a problem. I wouldnt worry to much :)

Re: Parrot/Bird Toys Safe?

My rats just ignore the hanging rope ones and say they are no fun. They do however LOVE the foraging ones such as .. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Foraging-Wheel-Parrot-Toy-Puzzle-Boredom-Breaker-Large-/330580414327?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Birds&hash=item4cf820cf77 Yippy especially is really funny with it. Re: Why is it important to change water? bottle improvisation

I use bowls and bottles as well. I have a really good large plastic one that clips on to the side of the cage and it has a nice rim to stop spillage. I think it came with hand me down rats but its pretty awsome and stable
