As it is poisonous to rabbit they thought it would be the same for rats. As I am not an expert on the subject, I would like to have a little bit knowledge o...

Re: vet bills!!!
For a check plus a baytril course, usually cost me around 35 pounds :) That may be really expensive, but I had cheaper *please do not swear* vet in the past and this one know what he does, and do it well, so better paying more! Though the 300 pounds for the treatment post neutering of Iggy was kind ...

Re: Taking outside - asking for trouble?
unless you have a really shouldery and fat rat, no way to get the harness around!
Depending of the rat caractere, you can just keep it on you, they tend to hide in you hoodies / pockets anyway, and just keep a close look at them, they don't fly usually

Re: do I rehome?
Well, seeing rats live in cages, wouldn't think that your boyfriend allergy can be much of a trouble i know a lot of rat owner that are allergic to rat themselves, just have to keep the cage and house clean - especially since he already cope with them 3 years! Couple of young males should be fine as...

Re: Taking a rat camping..
Rat sitting is the solution IMO, too much incertainity for camping with rats, especially "sick" ones. You would have 2 rats, really used to human and travelling, you may have been able to do it easily, but that doesn't seems faire to me in this case...up to you though!

Re: colour? roan?
Not sure, as the picture may get the little guy paler than he is, but doesn't seem like a roan to me, they are usually darker when younger and the color is not as neat... could be wrong though!
