Re: weight loss in pregnant doe - experiences

The removed content related to events that had not taken place on Fancy Rats and a request had been made by FRA to keep personal grievances off the forum, this is something we have asked members to do in the past and will continue to ask in the future. If there is a concern or rumours about a ratter...

Re: SDAV New Cases

I am saddened to hear this but in no way suprised! Until people stop risking the lives of their rats and everyone elses this will continue...sad but fact x

Re: Worries over SDAV and adoption

I think thats very logical Tagalong tbh! :)
Yes it would put pressure on rescues but would help to safeguard exisiting rats with in the household.

Re: Worries over SDAV and adoption

Laska... This is very interesting...you join the forum late this evening and your first post is on a hot topic and to target someone? Hmn.....((scratches head)) The fact that your "accusation" has nothing to do with this thread is some what disturbing dont you think? A valid contribution i...

Re: Worries over SDAV and adoption

Andy...sorry i should have made that clearer... yes ive refered to mainly showing at this current time but as you say,rat sitting, fosters, rescues all carry a risk and i havent over looked those, sorry if it came across that way. I have stopped boarding rats until the new year unless they are rats tha...

Re: Worries over SDAV and adoption

Im going to underline this.... Our animals have had exposure to 15 other animals from reputable and trusted friends and colleagues in the rat world in the last 10 days so at no point are they ever wrapped up in cotton wool. I will happily allow my friends rats in to my home when i know that their an...

Re: Worries over SDAV and adoption

Personally I would never take my rats to a rat show, and I never have (apart from when I picked up rats from a rat show - I have never arrived with them) as I choose not to, my rats here wouldn't particularly enjoy it (I have had some that would), I don't believe in the competitions and I don't like...

Re: Worries over SDAV and adoption

Andy... I didnt take offense at what you wrote but i can see how any one suffering this virus would have done,if i was in the north or anywhere else and had a problem i would feel the same. Woody... You talk about people being abusive but do you not think consistant, needless sarcasm is just as uncal...

Re: Worries over SDAV and adoption

Laura... You are currently trying to fight this and save the lives of your rats so i can understand you being speechless at that comment. M.R The main of the cases it would seem have been in the North although we have outbreaks in the south the numbers are fewer. With that in mind surely southern sh...

Re: Worries over SDAV and adoption

Hi Andy, by "tip of the ice berg" is it your opinion that this virus will escalate? You mention the cases that we hear about and i agree...i believe there are far more cases out there than we know of...far more because people are scared of putting their hands up for fear of people thinking...

Re: Worries over SDAV and adoption

Its nice to hear some differing opinions... What facinates me is that most of the people who still think that shows are safe to go ahead with are concentrated in one area...the North! In part i agree with Tabi...its not the shows that are the issue...a show is just a venue the problem is with the pe...

Re: Worries over SDAV and adoption

This is all very interesting and makes good reading. As a responsible rat owner my first concern is always for the happiness and health of my pets. I was looking forward to this coming weekends Reading show but now i am nolonger prepared to take the uneccessary risk and subjecting my much loved pets...
