Re: Got to buy a new cage today..

Thanks for all your help guys, it's really much appreciated. :) Turns out i've got a little longer than expected to get the cage, but that doesn't mean that all your help will go to waste. i'm taking everything into consideration in my search for a cage for these lovely girls, and may end up getting...

Got to buy a new cage today..

Unexpectedly getting a couple of little ladies, so they definitely can't go in with my lads in their cosy new cage, and really need to buy one today. This means, I only really have access to local pet shops such as P@H. Only need something for 3 or so, so I don't need anything huge. Also, i'd rather...

Re: Wire bottomed cage

For those who can't remove the wire from the bottom, if there's a gap between the tray and the wire, you can fill the tray with bedding (I suggest higher than the wire, makes it a bit comfier), and scatter a few treats amongst it. I was in this situation once, and they loved digging through the bars...

Abscess help?

A few weeks ago, I noticed that Indie, my boy of 2 and a half years, had a lump on the left underside of his jaw. being the paranoid mummy that I am, I took him to the vets immediately and was told it was just a little abscess, and give time, baytril and perhaps the abscess bursting, he'd be fine. I...

Re: split claw?

i'm not sure, it's a complete mystery to me - it looks as though it might have been caught on something after just catching it initially or something? no idea though! i've never come across something like this before, nor heard of it from anyone else. i've got a bit of the powder, so i'll put some o...

split claw?

i think that Briar might have split his claw right down the centre. :-? strange i know, but one of his toes is swollen and it appears that it has actually come apart at the tip. i intend to take him to the vets to make sure this doesn't get infected, but what can i do in the meantime to make sure it...

Mange mites treatment question.

One of my little boys currently has mange on his ear, and I was wondering how to go about using the beaphar Anti-parasite spot on. Would I have to remove him from the cage he shares with his brothers when I use this treatment? Is this parasite contageous and if so, to what extent? How quickly does t...

Re: lumpy Briar.

i have what i can only consider good news - from the way it feels, it seems that since being on baytril for 4 days, briar's lump has almost gone! the scab is healing nicely and it feels just like a tiny patch of thick tissue now, compared to the mushy-pea sized lump it was before. thanks for all the...

Re: lumpy Briar.

the past two posts have given me a lot of hope in it being an abscess. i'm going to keep an eye on it and i just hope this antibiotics does the trick, or that nature takes its course and it does it's own thing. he's coming along nicely - he's getting plenty of fluids so he's getting a lot of the ant...
