Re: Scabs

invemectin is for horses, so it won't have a proper dosage guide. Ah we have proper small animal ones over here, you are better off asking someone on an american forum using the same things I would think. Sorry my bad. I didn't know you had ivermecton (Excuse me always calling it invermecton, I rea...

Re: Scabs

The thing was, I didn't even know what the scabs where caused by when I first saw them. I thought it was just a scratch. Once other members mentioned that they might be lice, I took a look at them. Then I spend the next few days trying to prove to my other family members that they ARE lice. Then we ...

Re: help! really urgent!

That's terrible, I don't even think it's leagle to feed live animals to reptiles ( Don't quote me on that). I can't beleive anyone would have the heart to do this. It's beyond awful, it's wrong. What lucky babies that they found you. I really don't know much about motherless bubs, but from what I've...

Re: Scabs

We can buy invermectin at our local pet feed store. Have you ever used this before? Did it work well? We're off to the store today so we'll pick up what we need then.

Re: Why are there so many bad rat care books out there?

I've done a lot of thought around this as it's been on my mind since i discovered Nimck May's "the proper care of fancy rat" back when i was 15 and it revelutionised how i kept my rats. Things have moved on a fair bit since then (though it's still a good book for background infor and gene...

So would I,

I'd love to help with the writing too. I'm in the middle of creating a rat care website, I'd be willing to take some of the writing I've done and add it to the book... If everyone wanted that is.

What about an editor?

Re: Why are there so many bad rat care books out there?

What a great idea! I my self have found most rat care books to be no help what so ever. The thing is, sadly, most rats are sold from pet shops to a little kid who thinks he wants him/her. A lot of parents won't take the time to research because they think "Oh it's just a rat", but if they ...

Scabs

I've started to notice scaps all over Nibbles body. About 2 months ago, I saw a few on his neck. I didn't think much of it at the time. He's always wrestling with Mojo. But now they're all over, on his neck, back, tummy etc. The other day his finger nail came off (I was so worried), I'm just wonderi...

Re: Bucks Or Does

Rats are very rarely agressive. Males don't tend to get grumpy as they age, but more cuddly! Neither do females when they are in heat, although they can be very spunky. I would highly recomend bucks to start. Like everyone says, they're a lot cuddier and easier to handle.

Best of luck!! :D

Re: My rattery is breaking out in respitory infections.

Oh no! This is terrible, for about a week nobody sneezed, coughed or anything. Now things are just as bad as they were if not worse. Everyone, and I mean everyone is sneezing. Poor Aqua has terrible that awful red stuff in her eyes except this time her eye is dripping in it and if I clean it out it ...
