Re: Why has my rat changed colour? :S

As everybody has said he is deffo a roan and has ''Roaned out'' but he is very handsome indeed :)

What jumped out at me is if these came from a breeder surely they should have told you what varieties you were adopting ? Also to expect the Roan's colour to change rather alot as he matured !!

Re: Possible virus (SDA?) in portsmouth - finger crossed please

Dont know if maybe you live too far apart from work but could you maybe go to the vets in your lunch hour and ask if they can do what ever they can to give him one last chance ?
Lots of luck x

Re: How many boys in Explorer

Depends of your going to have it as one big cage or split as 2 with 2 seperate groups as it is often very hard to get 10 to 12 lads to intro and the bigger a buck groups gets the more the dynamics within that group will change greatly With my explorer i go on the rats, I have one half with 8 girls a...

Re: Hospital cage

Personally i think if she has very little time left then she is fine where she is,I have done exactly the same with sickly rats and very very oldies in the past plus you have made it very nice for her in there with a shelf and hammock :)

Re: Suitable for homing 4 Rats?

What about a Freddy 2 cage made by savic usually get them 2nd hand on ebay from about £25 to £40, they are brilliant and make fab cages for groups of upto 4 or less especially if there lazy bucks

Re: new style explorer

Hi Flox, You just asked the right question. Cages are not designed for rats in particular but for "Small Mammals". Most cage designers look at other cages and change them slightly to give an "improved " version. If you can come up with 2 "perfect" designs for rats I will find out how much they woul...

Re: Best place to purchase a bale of shavings?

I use shavings in my Rattery as do alot of the extremely well respected studs and ratteries registered to the NFRS. They are cheap easy to source and keep down the odour the very best in my opinion. In 20 years rat keeping i have not found anything better i have used bedmax and its brill just not qui...
