i dont breed, but culling isnt a practise done by breeders in the rat fancy- if half the litter is culled down then vital information is lost about them which would make breeding lines pointless as you wouldnt know the full medical history. I do believe that this is more prevelant in the mouse fancy...

i really wouldnt worry about their bits-they most likely look odd due to the babies having their first season.if they were split up at that age they wont be pregnant.the mums probably just telling them off for being so hyper and annoying her

water bottle holders

im soooo sick of wires my rats like to push the bottles off the cage and either throw the wire on the floor where it evades being found or they drag it into the cage and bury it.anyone able to offer ideas for an alternative and links if i can get it online

If he is so aggressive, forced bonding might not be the best idea. I've tried it with an aggressive rat - and unfortunately I learned the hard way. Babies might intro fairly easily to Semper, but a) You may not have room/be in the position to take on babies b) It might not work and then you're left...

have you tried castrating semper? i can sympathise when you have rats that just dont seem to want to get on :(

Marianimal- ive seen that but on the website it says you can only use it on rats over a weight most of mine are...im petrified of overdose
