I'd guess the biggest thing is the later she gets full treatment, the higher the chance of the tilt being permanent instead of correcting - but I gather a lot never correct anyway. How are you holding her to syringe it? The best way with a small rat I've found is put my index and middle fingers from...
Thanks :) Umm you were right on needing more help, he's been fine with most parts (she's less restricted).. but he sort of got stuck on the very top platform in the top half yesterday evening, so there's now the jenny ladder between the 2! He seems ok with the rest so do you think just monitor? She ...

I don't think anyone will think you're a rubbish owner, so relax! Most of us have had to learn this stuff - if not with rats, with other small pets! Have you possibly got a smaller cage? It may be easier if they're in something smaller for a while - pos swap them and your girls as your girls are fri...
I definitely think that in general, males are calmer.. but I don't always think actually more affectionate and wanting cuddles more actually, I think that unlike girls they simply can't be bothered to wander as much. But in terms of affection, my girlies come up tops honestly! They may spend less ti...

It may be a case of avoiding trademark/copyright type problems..
Number of ropes and things I'm not sure really, just maybe looks like it needs more  Ok my layout, I've only had it a few days and this is my first layout in it so it's not great  I'm also lacking hammocks etc big enough! Need to make some now :D Ok I have rats ranging from a relative baby...
Ooooh... 8.5/10. Pros: Love the amount of hammocks and soft houses :D Looks a nice amount to me, definitely not too many! But it depends how hammock obsessed your rats are I guess  Great rack thingy on the bottom 1/2 Nice use of ledges Cons: I feel there's a lack of ropes/tubes/general climbine...
9.5/10 for me! I think it's missing a sputnik  Also possibly another hammock.. but mine are hammock junkies so I may be applying that reasoning wrongly  Thought I'd join in :D (Will do a photo sometime but not yet as I've not rearranged it since my unstable oldie went a few days ago so it'...
Hmmm... I come in as someone who is skeptical of natural treatments (although do use 1 or 2 and find them good!) - and a complete non-believer in homeopathy, anything to do with energies and such. I do find people are quite overly critical over what is essentially a belief - I doubt it'd be tolerate...

I dont see a british blue anywhere *needs new specs* I do see a champagne hooded though - 1st and last pic. Its the first and last that look to be blue to me - I assume the same 2 for cyber ratty? I thought powder not british but definitely blue (I thought powders were the light blues so I may be w...
Awwww, glad you're feeling better about it! Even if it had hurt, sometimes we do have to do things for them they don't want as to, part of our job as their humans! But some of my rats will squeal and wail when I clip their claws (I've seen forum posts on this before too!) and that definitely doesn't...

Posting here for some thoughts on this. Some of my rats are getting cuts under their chins - could be from nipping or mites (undetermined as of yet, trying to work it out) - however to date 5 of my rats (all my neutered boys in fact... no girls) have had abscesses on their necks. Now 1 has had mites...
I've done mite treatments yesterday Raz to rule this out - especially as mine do seem to end up getting mites in small groups each time (never the whole cage mind!), Wiggy's neck is scratches up again due to mites (he has them semi-constantly now), the others look more like nips, plus they're only o...

I can't access rat related chitchat (but can access social/ongoing, transport and the 3rd subforum), behaviour and I can't search. Everyone else is fine, no errors trying to post.
Same on my phone too.
