Re: what was the strangest thing you`ve found your rat eating?

Iris seemed to like the lumps of fake coal in our electric fire :o Tate and Lyle (RIP) loved the fake coals in a house I used to live. They used to steal them and hide them behind the sofa. I remember when the gas man came for the annual inspection and he said 'there seems to be a few coals missing...

Re: Reversing the effects of rat poison.

Vit K reverses the effects of warfarin in humans and can be given IV or orally so presumably Vit K is what you need as warfarin and rat poison are essentially the same as far as I know. You would need to get it from your vet.

Re: New and frequent choking episodes

Re: URGENT LINK TO RAT SWING PLEASE

Taverham vets, they have a branch in Taverham and a new one in Costessey. I saw a guy called Toby. They also have a small animal specialist but apparently she only works evenings and only alternate weeks. But Toby really was good and I would absolutely go to see him again.

Re: New and frequent choking episodes

She's not as flat as you might expect a girl with pneumonia to be and she does better with liquid than soft food so I managed to get her doxy into her mixed with 0.3ml cordial so she has a chance of pulling through. It did take 2 sessions split by about an hour to get that 0.3ml in though :-? She's ...

Re: New and frequent choking episodes

She had a light anesthetic and an x ray today as her last 2 episodes were more 'gaspy' than choking and the vet and I thought the anesthetic risk was worth it to get some answers and have a clearer plan. She has no obvious obstruction and the x ray along with the gasping suggests pneumonia so she is...

Re: URGENT LINK TO RAT SWING PLEASE

Iris' last 2 'episodes' have been more like gasping than choking so the vet and I are suspecting that the choking has now led to pneumonia :( She had a light anaesthetic and an x ray today to help give us some answers and make decisions. There are no obvious obstructions that would cause the choking...

Re: New and frequent choking episodes

Luckily the new vet seemed nice and open to me waffling on about Iris and her symptoms and what I'd done for her so far and my diagnostics ponderings so she is booked in for a quick anesthetic and scope to look down her throat tomorrow. Her chest isn't great though so she's a higher than normal anes...

Re: URGENT LINK TO RAT SWING PLEASE

Thanks everyone. He looked really peaceful in a hammock with no porph or anything and he just looked so perfect and beautiful I am hoping he was asleep and it was quick. He was so special and amazing he truly deserves a good death if you know what I mean :hearts:
