I'm no expert but I've read before that people often find that once a group gets beyond a certain size then hierarchy scuffles and disharmo...

Re: Cleaning Hammocks

I pop mine into the washing machine on a 30/40 degree wash and sometimes I'll put them on a higher wash. If you're worried about your washing machine pop them into an old pillow case :D

Re: How to make cage/free range as fun as possible?

Hiya,

Have you read through this thread?. Its got ideas about cheap toys on =]

This page also has lots of ideas re: toys on it to!

Do you sit with them when they are on your bed? It means that they could come and investigate you rather than you go to them which may be less daunting?

Re: Cage upgrade

It's really up to you but its cheap so can be used as a space or holiday cage anyway so would bid but don't go to much over what it's going for now :) You could also get 2 and make a tower. Cut a hole in one of the bases and sit it on the other and the wire bit on top of it again... If i make sense...

Re: Cage upgrade

A cage is only as useful as as the cage calc states if its kitted out properly making use of the space, how much free range time they get and how well bonded a group are. I currently have 3 fosters in a furet plus with a fair few accessories and it is fine. They are a well bonded group, and get regu...

They always bully the rat who is bottom of the pecking order. When I added Lucky, it was her..when I added the park babies, they bullied th...

When I was about 17 I went to pick up a second hand Critter 3 that was advertised in the Loot.

I got there and the cage was outside, and there was a dead chinchilla in the bottom of it.
No words.

Re: pet rat improvments and problems

I've seen a rat having been nearly killed from a hormonal fight - so I know it can happen (I say nearly as we just got to the vet in time). I would neuter him as he's not going to be happy in himself either - just remember that it can take a fair few weeks for hormones to settle when they are very h...
