Re: Carefresh vs Ecopetbed

Hmm rats don't seem too bothered about he new ecopetbed but they haven't really explored it yet! I only ordered a small trial bag - will probably do 2 clean outs. I'm not too covinced about it yet though, I've never had any problem with the carefresh bedding being dusty althouth a lot of people seem...

Re: Taming a unhandled and bitey rat?

How old are your 2 new rats and how long have you had them? Where did you get them from? Matilda and Abigail were from P@H and very nervous for the first 2 weeks before they settled in. I find when you get animals from a pet shop it usually takes a week for them to get used to you and settle in to t...

Re: Carefresh vs Ecopetbed

I know I was moaning about postage prices but I ordered some ecopetbad anyway sice everyone on here raves about it! It arrived today so when I clean the ratties out on Thursday I'll give it a go. Re: Scabs from fighting?

The little scab's already gone and I've been checking them both incase more turn up, seem to be fine so far though. I think Abigail must have done it - they were both being very agressive yesterday and I had to seperate them a few times during free range but they're both completely back to normal to...

Re: Pets at Home survey

Got my most recent 2 from P@H which was a laugh, got some interesting info from the P@H staff in Northwich about dumbo rats: Dumbo's grow bigger than top eared (therefore more expensive). Can't keep dumbos and top eared together because they will fight. But hey at least the girls were all definitly ...

Re: How much have you spent....Vet Survey.

2009 - about £170

(http://www.exoticdirect.co.uk insurance quoted me £174.30 one years cover for my 2 girls with : "Vet fees stated are per policy, per year, and have an excess of £50 per animal per course of treatment." Oh and "Vet fees only covered up to £2000 per policy". Not really a saving is it? :-? )

Scabs from fighting?

Hello! I've had Matilda & Abigail since 5th December, they're now about 3 months old and they seem to have settled in alright This afternoon I've found a little scab on Matilda's back, I think Abigail is the more dominant of the two, they both tussle a lot but I've never seen anythig beyond inte...

Re: The Marking Turpin.

If you copy and paste the URL into a browser they work, but if you click on them they don't. I guess it's something that was put in to stop people from hot linking the images. I'll try and get them added to the varieties page on the NFRS website tomorrow. Aha! You're a genius! The links weren't wor...

Re: Garlic MIA

I tried giving my 2 some garlic spaghetti today (which they loved!) Does anyone happen to know how rat digestion cops with oil? Just asking as I always cook garlic by frying it - wanted to check if that's appropriate?
