tiny rescued rats and advice needed

I came across an advert local to me for baby rats for £1 :/ It turns out some uniformed man decided to breed rats in what i'm assuming was a misguided effort to make money and ended up with more than he could handle. i asked the names of the rats and he said they didn't have any as 'they were just g...

Re: Need help/ideas for my cage set up

I agree with removing the middle section. I'd also get rid of the ladders, if your rats are only a year old and healthy they shouldn't need them they can climb the bars. putting a perch, ledge or rope under each hole Is a good idea so they can jump up to the top level. since your cage doesnt have a ...

Re: Wire mesh

I've tried eBay and only found massive roles that cost a fortune :( and the holes were always 1" too. I only need a small amount to make a lid for a homemade hammy cage, not worth paying £50 and up for :(

Wire mesh

could anyone tell me where to get wire mesh from for modding cages please? I want to make a homemade hammy cage so I'd need mesh that's about 5mm if possible. My dad suggested chicken wire as he had chickens but the gaps are huge, my big squishy boys could fit through so a hamster would have no prob...

Re: Can anyone recommend me a good cage for two rats?

a cage like a tom a new style jenny , a freddy or furet plus are nice little cages for babies as too much space can be scary initially. if you want something bigger for them to grow into then the furet xl is a nice size, can hold up to 9 if the space is used well and can be stacked into a tower. as ...

Re: Cat litter

the first one doesn't say what it's made of and the second doesn't have a product description. it needs to be 100% paper not just paper based as many store brands are. check in store and if its 100% paper with no added scents or perfumes then it should be fine. just to be safe though papelit paper p...
