Re: At what age would you consider a rat old?

The youngest I have lost was at 18 months old - I was devastated and was massively disappointed in my vets at that time. ( changed vets because of this, I have now found myself the most amazing vets ever. - a twist of fate maybe - rather bitter sweet... ) Mine have been a mix of breeder and rescues ...

Re: Zymbal's Gland Abscess

I posted info on Bungle on the NFRS forum - after he died ( he passed away quietly in his sleep ) he had a PM and then the lump went for tests ( Ann has the lab report) it was reported as possibly this - however with care and treatment my lad lived 6 more months.... i can say hand on heart he did no...

Re: Breeders North East England?

All 3 are fab - I have had ratties from Gwen and Alison and can't rave about them enough.... They also take in and rehome rescues. They have many years of exprience and vast amounts of knowledge - Alison of Shunamite wrote The Scuttling Gourmet. Lizzie of ratoon rats is also on the forum, whist i ha...

Re: Castration: eaten glue - help!

(had to travel a fair bit to find a highly recommended vet! ) LOL and nope - you can't pinch him.... The way you describe them sounds 'normal' I am sure if I was a fella and i had those bits removed i'd still be a bit sore... Bless them - seriously they do tend to suck their sides in after castrati...

Re: Show your Cage.

Currently....... Tom home - The best home by far (imo) I adore it ... I'd like it a little bigger if I could and I am looking to add another tom to this one in time, but as my guys get masses of out and free range time they are quite happy in here. I am also a firm believer in enrichment... things t...

Perhaps i should just post a zillion photies of al the things my guys have.. I like to have outside of home enrichment too ... but that's anothe...

Re: Visit to a rodent farm (with pics!)

Should a human be kept in conditions like this by another human we would feel somewhat outraged - well I would! so for me, to keep an animal like this is no better... :-?

Re: Whats wrong with Bobbi's eye? *pic*

Another possibility is a curly eyelash, one of my rex lads had a very tightly curled lash that managed to make it's way up under the lid, it obviously made the eye very uncomfortale. I did manage to get the lash out. They still have some curly whiskers and if you look above the eye you will see some...
