Show me a Critter 1 set up.

Im stuck with a Critter 1 for the time being, and im generally struggling to deck it out how I would find acceptable, im new to it to be honest. Can anyone point me to some pictures online, or perhaps advise how best to deck it out. Its for a pair of males. I have a tunnel, 2 food dishes, a water, a...

Re: Stop the smell

The smell isnt too bad in all honesty, but it is there. I would just like to keep it to a minimium really.

Food wise they eat nugget type things yes.

The plug in is no where near the cage itself, does it still need to go?

Stop the smell

My daughter has really taken to our new ratties, and loves them being in her room. Keeps her company. My ONLY concern is the smell. Not too bad at them moment, and I have bought a plug in air freshener which helps. Was tempted to clean them out last night, but they have barely settled so I dont want...

Re: Help out a newbie

Tried a bit of yogurt bribery, not interested.

Still If I grab them, they are coming out. Ian is still really docile and will happily sit on my shoulder all day. Dave is a bit skittish, but will sit on your lap if you keep tabs on him.

They mess all over me as soon as they come out though.

Re: Help out a newbie

I'm assuming that means you don't want the cage that you asked me to keep hold of for you and not to sell to anybody else? :-? No no, the opposite. When your down that will do just the job, I was about to drop you a pm actually, asking if the critter 2 is what is was, and if it is big enough thats ...

Help out a newbie

Recently got a couple of dumbo rats-Dave & Ian. Gorgeous they are (will post pics up later in the my rats section) Just looking for a few pointers really. Getting them out of the cage. I would say they are pretty friendly, never bitten, maybe squeek a little. How exactly do you get them out? If I re...

Re: Breeder list

Why I have to then justify myself across the board, I dont know. Well, because everyone here cares about the welfare of rats. You claim that your shed is too cold in the winter anyway and in that thread you said it gets pretty cold in there and when someone said rats should live inside the home due...

Re: Breeder list

No I said it was hot an stuffy and it used to be cold. In winter, for both the rats and the pipes, I will have a thermostat controlled heater installed. For the summer, someone on here suggested mesh over the windows to allow fresh air. From there I dont see a problem. Im good to go. Why I have to t...

Re: Breeder list

So your shed is boiling in the summer and freezing in the winter? That isn't a recommended environment for them to live in. I agree with Jacky in that I think before you get any more rats you need to make the shed suitable for them to live in by insulating it. The shed is warm enough in the winter,...

Re: Breeder list

There is one very helpful breeder on here "secretpennell". Apart from that im at a bit if a loss really. I'm glad you think so Stuart, but the rats we originally spoke about are rescues. I don't breed fancy rats. I think you need to deal with insulating your shed against the hot weather before you ...
