Seems strange to me.

If I couln't have them in the house, in my living room or other well used and warm area I wouldn't have them.
Surely you can grasp it

Re: Rat in the shed

Bringing them inside wouldnt be a problem.

Il upload a photo of the shed tonight.

Re: Rat in the shed

Can I ask why you can't have them in the house? I'd be concerned about the freezing over bit, through outhouse would certainly need insulating for winter, how warm is it out there now? And what ventilation do you have. As a rescue/rehomer I'd administration for pictures and your insulation plans an...

Re: Rat in the shed

I keep some of my rats in a shed which I have insulated, including the floor and ceiling. I have two oil filled radiators in there for the colder months, they are thermostatically controlled. I have found that the rats that live in my shed seem healthier than my rats indoors. they have much more fr...

Re: Rat in the shed

Re: Rat in the shed

The ONLY concern would be the heating aspect of it. I would buy a thermometer and get some sort of heater.

Apart from that im out of my depth a bit

Re: Rat in the shed

Very interesting. Pretty much every reason for not getting Rats at the moment are because we cant have them in the house. This would possibly be a game changer for me. How expensive are these heaters? What type would be best? The shed (its a brick built outhouse) is fine in the summer, its just cold...

What if you could ensure it was heated?

Agree on the company thing, its a bit out of the way really.

Rat in the shed

I dont have rats, nor am I gettin them in the short term but, would rats be ok to live in a shed? When I say shed, I have a brick built outhouse, gets pretty cold in the winter? Could you not buy a light to keep it warm? Another drawback is that rats need to be able to see what is going on around th...

Who said they do?

It would be nice if I could have both out together. Not essential, but better.

Rats & Cats?

Hi all. Currently gettin my first pair of rats & Cage. As things stand I own one cat, what should I do in terms of making them get along. The cat itself is a small black thing, really timid and sweet. Does do a bit of bird hunting though. The Rats are young ones I think. How should I approach this a...

Re: Teaching tricks!

How do I train the rats, at what age do you start, and what are the best tricks.

Dont see the problem personally, same logic applies to dogs surely, and people have been gettin them to do tricks for years.

Critter 2

Looking at some of these, I feel totally out of my depth. I am gettin a Critter 2 cage in a couple of days, looking to deck it all out before I get a couple of rats, just wondering if anyone has any decent pictures of a fully furnished one I can look at. Dont have a massive budget, and im not every ...
