I may have found an explanation! My husband's just explained that because the .tk suffix is a free one, operated by the dutch for the Tokelau Islands (see w ... if you can), it apparently has a bad reputation and some filters will block it I didn't know that , so I guess I'd better change the links ...

Do my websites work for you?

Hi all - a couple of people have mentioned to me that my websites haven't been working for them for a while. I use a shorthand address to make them easier to remember with a .tk suffix, but I think there may be a problem with the .tk system. What I don't know is whether this is a problem for everyon...

He's been fine - at first he did keep turning his head to that side, and I'm not sure whether that was in order to look through the other eye, or whether it was a bit sore and he was just trying to see what it was that was causing it. He manages perfectly well now though, and doesn't seem to notice ...

Yup - one of our boys has had an eye removed (it was probably causing him pain, so there was no choice really), and there were no complications. I do know that the vet researched the procedure thoroughly first. (p.s. a bizarre thing, is that the tear duct remains in place, so any porphyrin still sho...

When comparing weights, it's important to remember that rats' lengths vary a lot too, so a short but overwieght buck might still wiegh less than a long fit buck. I have a 10 month old boy who's now 750g, but not fat at all, as he's 28cm from nose to the base of his tail :o

It looks like RipleysRatPack has similar fees - so what excuse can these other vets have?? I can understand consultations etc varying, but the meds must surely cost the same for all of them. Our's are very knowledgable too Tara, but they probably have relatively cheap premises (out in the sticks in ...

*gulp*!! I knew our vets prices were very reasonable, but I hadn't realised just how much some of you had to pay... A lumpectomy or nueter costs us about £35 (including check up afterwards), a consultation is £5, and meds are usually about £3 on top. If someone local wanted to save up a treatment fu...

Re: rattie

Obviosuly the main concern is 1) is she in pain I'd say the main thing is - is she happy? While she is bruxing and able to respond to the love she's getting from you and her fellow rats, I'd say let her enjoy her remaining time. I think being with her may also be helpful for her daughters, to help ...

Technically you'd need 44.8ml for the two weeks, but I'd recommend getting 50ml to allow for wastage. Are you sure they haven't given you 7 days worth? My vet labels the meds as '... x 7' to indicate 7 days. I've currently got 12 on Baytril, all had rattly upper respiratory tracts, but are much bett...

It's important to keep an eye on the length of their teeth, as, if they don't meet properly, you'll probably need to take them to the vet every 2 or 3 weeks to have them clipped (they won't wear themselves down). Not sure that it's a hereditary thing, but older rats may develop softer roots (?) and ...
