Re: possibly pregnant rat

I have last night moved her into a 4ft tank as I dont have low level cages that she will not climb! She and her family will need a barred cage in a couple of weeks at the latest so that they get ventilation, interaction, and climbing opportunities, plus you'll be able to give them the accessories a...

Re: An overview of the new forum

Awh, Mary posts like she figured the max number out for herslf :P I'm sure the maximum must have been increased sometime after I set up my fourth folder...  Mary's being a star with all the time she's spending on the forum answering questions and everything at the moment. {{{huggles Cyb...

Re: Registering as a rescue

You can put yourself on the rescues part of the web directory straight away, but to start off with you will probably need to submit PMs for the rehoming section like most others do. You may ask to be added to those with rehoming forum access, but when and if that access is granted will depend on the...

Re: An overview of the new forum

Ahhh, no wonder lack of PM space has been a concern (mind you, I have 250 stored so still don't have any spare, lol!) - we will add it to the useful stuff for the new forum.

Re: 'pedigree' names

The rattery prefix is the only standard part of the name, a breeder (or the new owner) can choose whatever they like for the rest. I have a theme of names from songs, so most of my rats have simple names like Emma or Frankie, some have longer names like Maggie May or Bobbie McGee (which I shorten to...

Re: An overview of the new forum

Counts won't be lost in the sense that they will still show on this old forum - you could pop them in your signature on the new one for easy reference. I have a question... what is the new forum going to be called? :-o Will it be the same and this forum moved to a different link for reference...

Re: Help with Essex Markings

You've no essex in there, I see variegated and capped (and presumably berkshire?). There are lots of headspots, but essex isn't the only variety which can have a headspot.

btw, essex is a dominant gene, so one of the parents would need to be essex to get essex kittens.

Re: Project Duetto [immense cage restoration] *img heavy*

I'll be honest, I am REALLY envious of you! I would *love* a restoration project like this. It was sitting in Mary's cabin thingy for a few months before I enquired! Just I was the first person to ask what had happened to the one that was replaced with an SRS, I think  I had been dithering ove...

Re: Rat Harness?

I wouldn't have them on a harness instead of free range. IMO free range is for them to do what they want, although of course at the end, it is handy not to have to look behind everything for them  I can imagine the room looking like some sort of commando training course covered with criss cros...

I think sweating happens all the time, even if it's so little that you can't tell.
