Re: They won't take their meds - end of my tether!

Well last night i did abit of drug dealer-y type chopping up/crushing of tablets. I put the powder onto buttery toast, & it was scoffed in no time :) No stress, no fuss :) I hope & pray it stays like that!

Re: They won't take their meds - end of my tether!

I really sympathise with your frustration Elmo, I had the same thing with my girl Scrappy and Septrin. She became really traumatised by me even approaching the cage, knowing there was a chance that I had Septrin. I switched to ronaxan instead, which is dead easy to give to her, as it's a small amou...

This morning was just horrible, i take a while to get ready in the mornings myse...

Re: Charlie's a mystery..

Well we were at the vet last night, saw diff. vet coz Fraser is off this wk. She wasn't at all impressed with me giving him Calprofen. Started going on bout how i could have done him serious damage & it could even be fatal. Im not stupid, he only got a tiny bit, a couple of times. She then started g...

Re: Charlie's a mystery..

Thanks for the responses guys :) Fritzy- they're on Finacard, so i know the litter isn't a problem. Sati- Fraser did mention something about scarring, tho i can't remember exactly what. What combi of meds would you recommend? Not sure the Septrin is doing much anyway, & its a battle to get him to ta...

Re: Charlie's a mystery..

Well i had Charlie at the vet on Monday, who checked him over & had a feel of all his joints & stuff. At 1 point Charlie screamed, & Fraser (vet) told us that he'd just had a feel of his knee joint, & that he reckoned the problem is ligament damage. Says not much we can do but give him pain meds if ...

Re: Charlie's a mystery..

I tend to suspect a stroke if the back legs and balance go overnight. This could be how he hurt his foot, if he fell while suffering a stroke? Alternatively he could have damage to his spine? When he is off abs, how is he in himself? Is his appetite ok, does he lose weight/condition? His temperamen...

Charlie's a mystery..

Charlie is approx 20-ish months old, i've only had him since mid-November. He's been sneezy since we got him, & had been for a while from what we were told, but the vets (& i'm talking 3 or 4 different vets..) have all said his chest isn't too bad at all. But he always has a really wet porphyrin sta...
