Re: Respiratory Problem - Baytril and other advice please

I agree with what has been said above, for a rat Squidge's size I would also be using 0.3mls of Baytril twice a day.

Re: i think he just doesnt like anyone but his brother :(

do you have a rough idea how much that would cost? That really depends what area of the country you are in ... I pay around £35 for a castration and I'm up near Manchester. and if that fails should i get dribble a younger cage mate or would the result be the same? If it doesn't work and you want to...

Re: A mammary diet?

Please note that the shark cartilage in the anti-lump mix can be replaced with turmeric (not cooking grade, it must be a standardised supplement version) for a more ethical mix.

Re: i think he just doesnt like anyone but his brother :(

is there any chance that just doesnt like this particular rat? The short answer to this is yes. It doesn't happen very often but sometimes personalities clash and there is just nothing you can do about it. This isn't forced to be the case here though, and I think what you may be seeing is that Marm...

Re: Feeding a 8week old

Generally speaking youngsters can benefit from a little extra protein and some nice dark green leafy veggies ... but as long as your basic diet is balanced, I don't think you need to worry about adding too many extras for the younger lady (by all means add some if you'd like to, but you don't need t...

Re: White Spots ??

Can't really tell what's going on from the photo I'm afraid ... but, looking closely at the piccy and seeing the blobby part she seems to have on the lower part of her ear lobe, I think you might be seeing the results of sarcoptic mange, in which case you need to treat her with Ivermectin to resolve...

Re: Reggie Rat

As this post has targeted individuals personally wether intentional or not then Would this not have been better off done through pm rather than a public forum? I have also spoken to Jemma privately regarding this matter. I personally don't feel able to post on the feeding forum now as I would feel ...

Re: What to hide Baytril in

Oo, wouldn't mind some of that myself. Thanks Vic, I'll see if I can get it tomorrow. I can confirm it is yummy! Contains real 'chocolate crumb' but is a nice syringe-able liquid and my lot will pretty much take any meds straight from a syringe/spoon if they are mixed with it. Toffee one works okay...

Re: may be urgent: Ebony.

With recent surgery followed by weight loss I would have these on my list to be checked out; PT, resp infection, heart failure, kidney failure. Very difficult to say anything specific with so few symptoms, but any of those above problems can be linked to surgery and can cause subsequent weight loss.

Askey's Milk Chocolate Treat Sauce ... topping for ice cream, absolutely the best meds disguise I have found to date.

Re: Reggie Rat

Can I ask if you kicked up a fuss when the old style SD was recommended? I don't think this is either helpful or relevant. The issue here, at least as I see it, is not that people are 'kicking up a fuss' about the promotion of the straights diets, it's about the lack of balanced replies that are se...

And when someone says 'well I'm not sure I could do that, that sounds a bit complicated' they are told 'Well actually RatRations has made a complete mix just for people like you!' instead of people stepping back and saying 'these are all your options, you can do this, or this, or some people do thi...
