I hope not, but I can't help thinking this will happen. Anyway, on a related note - I'd very much like to thank the person spreading rumours about me...

Re: To breed or not?

to me it seems selfish to breed because we want to carry on a line of say, our favourite rat's DNA. Feel like I should point out that's not how it works with ethical breeding (in case anyone interprets it that way) I had an amazing rescue buck, perfect temperament and wonderful health up until his ...

Re: Help!!

As with a lot of animals, rats can mount eachother to assert dominance - i.e. it's a form of powerplay :)

Re: what colour are we??!

Rexes can appear less intense in colour than smooths as they lack guard hairs.
No idea about d/r, sorry.
I've never thought about when silvering can start (only had 3 blacks in all my litters) but have always noticed it by homing stage..

Re: Kira has got herself a sex change! HELP!

a little bit OT but ... Anyhoo, you didn't upset me as such, you just need to remember that ratty families - like human families - dont always stick to the "2.4 children nuclear family fly the nest at 21" stereotype, and deviation from that don't necessarily mean any immoriality commited ...

Re: home/help needed!

Personally I would rehome him since he's on his own anyway and rats really need ratty company - unless you are prepared to get a couple of babies to keep him company :)
You can send the rehoming template (somewhere in the rehoming section ) to Fancy Rats Admin if you choose to do that.
