Re: New ratties scared to free range
my most recent boys - from baby to large squishy buck never wanted to free range. If you put them on the floor anywhere they would just lean on my foot and look about as if saying "yup, thats a floor all right". They loved snoozing in my hood though.

Re: Breakthrough with very skittish ratty but help needed
with my girls (who do smell to high heaven if left too long) I either put the carrier in their cage - when we were using the smaller carrier - and after a couple minutes they'd both jump in and I could close the box and set to cleaning the cage. Now they have a bigger carrier I was hoping Pixie woul...

Re: Breakthrough with very skittish ratty but help needed
I just wanted to update this and give everyone else who is having problems with scaredy rats some hope. and that it does! I've had my girls for a few weeks now and they are both very timid so I've been doing the slowly slowly approach as well - was beginning to wonder if it would ever work with Gig...

Re: Can rats and cats live in harmony?
My cat was forever bringing in birds and mice and what not, so not the big softy - but he always ignored my boys. Combined they probably matched him in size - and he wasn't no fool. Would occassionally catch him staring into the cage, but he always backed off and hid a little bit when they were movi...

Re: chew proof cages
I did look at the tower and curse that I didn't have more space in my room for that - such a good price! Plus looks like a fantastic cage. I've order the abode and a whole bunch of stuff to kit it out though - very exciting. Think my little hammy is a bit gutted, he was due to get a new cage before ...

Re: Abode Club
thanks. i only asked as it seemed strange that pets world direct stated the depth as 50cm and I was ordering a tray with one of 54cm - that being said, the measurements on shops are generally off and I trust the people on this site much more than I would trust them. Emailed John to get an order in.

Re: Abode Club
hey, I'vejust ordered my abode and was going to email john hopewell to place an order for the tray, just had a quick question if anyone knows. On the websites the give the measurements as 80x50x96 or something like that - but in the review section the width is 56cm. Are the websites 6cm's off or has...

Re: chew proof cages
cheers. I've emailed john for a quote, and I've had a look at the critter cages too. The girls are concentrating their energy on the inside corner of the roof, they're a good few nights away from escaping but I'm hoping to have everything sorted before then. It does seem to be one corner, and I've t...

Re: chew proof cages
I was eying the abode up last night but the plastic tray put me off. Where would I go about getting a metal tray made? I'm hopeless with all that jazz.

chew proof cages
hello, Just had a little enquiry. I've noticed my girls start to chew the plastic top of the furet plus cage - and I'm getting paranoid that an escape attemt is looming. The cage is full of toys, chews and interesting things aimed at distracting them, but they always find time to chew a little of th...

intro's going well?
ok, well i have just returned home after picking up 2 kittens to keep my old boy company. I decided to do some quick intro. on the floor infront of the cage my old boy Marvin had a good sniff, seamed unimpressed and returned to his cage. The two little boys then followed him in. New to this i decide...
