you wont know for at least 2 weeks when they start putting weight on or if your girls are quite noticable when on heat (which some arnt) then you will know they are not pregnant fingers crossed for you :luck:

lets see how funny she thinks it is bringing up 2 litters of a possible 15 kittens each and the cost aswell extra cages extra food for the babies vet bills ect she wont be laughing then will she :???:

my rats got brodatella (kennel cough) and within 12 hours they were dead no time to do anything we did blankey treat all 46 twice a day but still ended up loosing 16
hope your ratties get better soon :D

breeding isnt all plain sailing lots of things can go wrong difficult birth ,complications during birth . kittens can die sometimes the doe can die and thats not a pleasent experience i once had to help a doe deliver her babies only to see them all die due to a imature doe. there is also the extra c...

cardboard is good and only around £6 a bale and that would last you with 1 cages weeks maybe months

all i do is syringe it straight in the side of the mouth then give them a yummy treat i then know they have got the dose they need .

when i started breeding i didnt have a mentor as such i just got to know a lot of breeders who were willing to help me whrn the time comes . i would try and get to some shows and meet some breeders discuss what your aims are and all the questions you may have maybe you could go to a breeders rattery...

if she is anything like my doe even if she is restitched she will do the same again i just kept an eye on it and it eventually healed 'it cost me another £35 to get it redone and just for her to pull them out again . you could maybe ring the vets and see what they say .

i agree with what the others said i didnt have a mentor just lots of breeder friends that gave me lots of good advise but did not take one persons advise it can be a real learning curve and i am still learning now . i do have one breeder friend close by who is now a very good friend who i could just...

i had a rat with a broken leg but i knew it was broke because the bone was sticking out of the leg. personally i dont think its broken just very badly bruised which i have also had and it did stay swollen for 10 days if not longer so try not to panic , do you have any calpol or other kids pain relie...

i had a rat who broke her leg but you could see the bone sticking out of her leg she had a cast put on it and she now uses her wheel as though nothing has happened . you rats may have just bruised herself so the best thing you can do is put her is a small carrier ect so she doesnt have to move aroun...
