Re: Not eating their protein.

I think it is important for them to eat everything in their mix. I don't really have an issue with my lot not eating anything but then I'm a mean owner who leaves the bowl in the cage until everything is gone. Have you tried doing this?

Re: Savic Royale/Critter Nation

I was slightly nervous as I think I got a bit carried away with making it more challenging than usual (which in my case just means less hammocks) so there was a couple of falls which made me wonder whether I should make it easier but they seem to have got the hang off it now and the girls loved whiz...

Same here. I get annoyed when people try to help me make things. They always do it wrong or half heartedly.

Re: The Savic Royal Suite Club! aka *The Savic Royal Family*

I put it up myself. It isn't too difficult but it took me and hour or two. My tip is to make it in the room you plan to keep it in.

Re: treating lice

When I treat for lice I use Beaphor Spot On (same as invermectin) put all hammocks and anything material in the wash, soak wood stuff and scrub the cage. Then as soon as it's all dry I just put it all back.

Re: Bathing abscess, doens't seem to be draining? Help!

Have you got a syringe? I squirt hibiscrub into the hole using a a syrine. Sort of acts like mini a power washer which helps dislodge gunk.

Re: Green Mile or Ecobed

Many people have said the Green Mile compacts which is true although not such a problem if you scatter feed so you can ruffle it up again. I did buy a bale but opted to go back to Ecobed for ease. I also found it smelt alot quicker than Eco. That's great. I knew you would have an opinion on this on...

Re: Changing rat's name?

Not every rat will know or learn its name. Only Winkie, Truffles and Badger every learnt theirs out of all my rats.

Re: Changing rat's name?

The only rats that ever come to me with a name are rescues and I usually change their name depending on whether it suits them, I like it or in order to give them a fresh start. In all the rescues I've had I've only ever kept two of their names: Winkie and Hickey.

Re: Bad bite

Are you able to get a picture of it?

Depending on what it looks like then I would just wash the wound with Hibi and then spray it with PS until it heals.

Re: Holiday Cage

I can't think of a cage that flatpacks for 14 rats. I know the Furet XL flatpacks but I think the maximum is 8 maybe? How long are you going for?
