Re: Age of elective spays

I've read it's best to have them spayed between 4-6 months. I think 4 months is a bit young so would aim for the 6month mark.

Re: shakes head after petted?

Obviously I don't know without seeing but Fizz does this when she's playing. Her favourite game is for me to give her a scritch then she will run around the cage and come back to my hand for me to do it again.

Re: An overview of the new forum

As long as I can choose not to see it I don't care (not because I think my rats should speak intelligently because I don't but just it isn't my sort of thing). The only thing is it would mean more admin time for something that is of no value and the admin are already stretched as it is. I think it s...

Re: Plastic Corner Shelves - Design Flaws & Suggestions

I love the ideas of: a rounded corner shape, drainage holes, a type of side guard for bedding, smooth finish, hammocks holes. Pretty much everything everyone has said :D

I would like colour-wise: purple, blue, green, black and red. Glitter sounds amazing!!

Re: Very vocal rat...what does it mean?!?

I used to think it was because she was being hurt, but, on closer inspection, it is (a) because someone else is being hurt, (b) because someone else is being pinned, (c) because it looks as if someone else might be going to be hurt/pinned, (d) because she's just woken up and suspects that, at some ...

Re: to anyone with an srs

I made a correx tray for mine. They have chewed the edges a little bit but leave the rest alone.

Re: Metal trays for SRS

I would offer but I'm not the most reliable measurer. I measured my SRS to make a correx tray four times and still got it wrong

Re: Metal trays for SRS

I don't know what the size difference is. Is the tray a perfect fit? If so I would probably keep it. Otherwise you can always make a correx one.

I don't think a tray would cause any problems with hinges as it doesn't with my correx one but I'm not sure about metal.

I don't know what it is but I had something like this on a couple of my rats but bigger on Izzy. I just sprayed the area with purple spray 3-4 times a day and it was gone within a week.

Re: Parrot/Bird Toys Safe?

I usually buy only parrot toys as they are loads more interesting. The thing I look for is if it looks like fun to destroy.

I've read that rawhide can become sticky and so pose a chocking hazard but everything else is fair game :D
